Breaking we just got Donovan!
Re: Breaking we just got Donovan!
STL Fan: I hope we get Melton from the Rays and Colt Emerson from the Mariners
Re: Breaking we just got Donovan!
I know Ben Williamson hasn't shown much power, but he has shown gold glove potential at third and a pesky way of working counts, possible pitch count wrecker... I really liked watching him compete. I will miss him.... still excited to see what develops with Cole Young, Colt Emerson.... this year... This trade is taking a long time to materialize.....

Our switch pitching prospect is indeed going to St. Louis....

Williamson sucks balls. Bye.
Knew Jurrangelo would likely be part of the return,
MLBTV was short per usual.

Daniel Kramer says that his source says
Jurrangelo Cijntje, Tai Peete and Ben Williamson are the three players that the Mariners are dealing away.
If thats what it is then I'm ok with that

If definitely wouldn't be Canzone, based on the Who Sucked Last Year And Who Didn't Suck Principle.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 10:07 pmI hope its not CanzoneAT Fresno wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 9:58 pmLooks like Ben Williamson will be a Ray. I think we might get a reliever from the Rays...Donovan will likely become Mark MacLemore, play everyday almost.... Donovan will have two years with the M's between 5-6 million per year.... I think we say goodbye to either Raley or Canzone.... This is complicated....
Re: Breaking we just got Donovan!
Happy to see Williamson gone. It was a small sample size, but he didn't look like he was adjusting to MLB pitching.
Let's hope Donovan's body holds out - it looks like he's been injury-prone. Dude rakes when he's healthy, and he'll be a solid addition to the IF. As long as he can play a full season, I'll consider this a sweet deal (depending, of course, who we had to give up besides Williamson).
And per Bob Nightengale:
Once the medicals are cleared and the Brendan Donovan trade becomes official, here's the Mariners' top of lineup:
Brendan Donovan: 2025 All Star
Julio Rodríguez: 2022, 2023, 2025 All Star
Cal Raleigh: 2025 All Star
Josh Naylor: 2024 All Star
Randy Arozarena: 2023, 2025 All Star

Re: Breaking we just got Donovan!
Adam Jude and Ryan Divish are also confirming we are sending Cjintje, Peete and Williamson
I'm not seeing whos coming/going from the Rays end though, since its a 3 team trade I'm assuming STL is also getting someone from the Rays.

BTV has Donovan at 30.7 and Cijntje, Williamson, Peete at a total of 35.3.
Re: Breaking we just got Donovan!
Only gave up Williamson, JC and Peete! My God I owe Jerry a massive apology. We get Donovan and keep Laz and all of our top 5. Genius!Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 10:48 pmWilliamson sucks balls. Bye.
