Darnold on what it takes to develop a qb, Brady grasps that doesn't he? Kubiak seems to have aced his opening presser. The impression being he's low key. He's seen as a guy that can install a productive offense and take it easy on Mendoza. Though he said there was still a lot of film to watch before deciding on who to take with that pick
"Just consistency in the organization, and trusting, too," Darnold said in 2024. "If things don't go well -- which, having a rookie quarterback -- they're not all going to be C.J. Stroud. You're not just going to go out there and ball out. It takes a really special coach and leadership to be able to have trust and keep everything together for at least a couple years. Let the kid grow into his skin, and after a couple years, you kind of know, if everything's the same and if you have the same people, GM, coaches."

Wilson's collapse was pretty epic. He went from underdog, to over achieving fan favorite and SB winner, to self absorbed narcissist the fans learned to loathe...
So true, and he has nobody to blame but himself. Imagine if he had just played the game, made his millions and then simply retired. Rather than be remembered as an absolute clown, he would have been remembered as a solid athlete, a team player and an all around good guy.

Too bad the ego and money went to his head. His wife must be as nutty as he is. He's the definition of cringe.
I'll say this about the guy, we need to see what happens but he's made his money and says he still wants to play even if it is a backup role. He seems to love playing football and his ego isn't bothered.
Wilson plans to continue his NFL career in 2026 as an unrestricted free agent, with speculation suggesting a potential move to the Cleveland Browns. Despite recent limited starting roles, Wilson is open to being a backup and aims to secure a roster spot for his 15th season.

I see it differently. Being a player in the NFL strokes his ego. Even if it means holding a clipboard. Once his NFL days are over, he will become even more irrelevant.

Oh yeah! These guys found an abandoned couch and brought it to the parade.

These pictures are awesome. Did you take them?
Yes!

Just kidding. I found them on the Times website.

Looked like a good time, the only unfortunate aspect is that the players were forced to drink Bud Light.

Well, other than Gray Zabel who brought a case of Busch Light for the festivities.

I think it's more wanting to belong to something, being a part of something which isn't ego driven in my mind. For as aloof as he might have been he still needs the camaraderie, be part of a team. I don't think you see Arron Rodgers taking a job as a backup qb. His ego isn't allowing it

Wilson is a narcissist - he needs/wants/craves the attention. I have joked on other threads that "the Jets and Clevelend" are the next stop for him - literally the bottom of the barrell franchises. He was just on the dumpsterfire Giants - and was boo'd. He wants to get into the Hall - so he is trying to stay relavant - but all he is doing is embarrassing himself and ruining any positive legacy he had left - and everyone else sees it except for him and his narcissist wife. They crave the attention - dude was at the SB trying to stay in the spotlight. He's posting pics of himsel with former teammates from the SB years - trying desperately to show himself as a seahawk - riding thier current coat tails. Just fucking Gross. Go away, dude. He's not a seahawk - he chose to be a brand - not a seahawk. Wilson is the definition of cringe. I honestly hope he goes to cleveland - not just a dumpsterfire franchise - but those horrible winters. Then his usual 'childrens hospital pics'. He can be the next mistake by the lake. The ultimate cringe. PLease make it happen.
Dude showed up to training camp in Denver - wearing his own jersey. He is The Great Cringe. Just. Go. Away.

Um, he has his own photographers taking the pics - been doing it for years. The problem with 'politics or hollywood' is there is no appetite for him. A washed up back up QB? He's known for flaming out in Denver, in Pitt, in NY - the 'glory' days are long long gone. NO one is hitching thier wagon to him. He's embarrassing, has zero self awareness, the ultimate cringe. Unless he becomes self-depricating Rodney Dangerfield in a Netflix stand up - I see no real market value for him outside of super niche'. If he has stayed in Seattle and ended his career as a back up there - that's a nice story - leaving there onlt to realize that franchise was the reason you were successful - falling so hard on your face in epic style - that's not a product people have any appetite for.

Sorry, I took the post down, consider it some more, I'm annoying that way. Here it is for continuity.

I don't know, backup QBs don't get photo ops. If all he wanted was attention then I think this be the time he'd try something like the entertainment field or politics. That's why I said we needed to wait and see if he was serious

I haven't seen where he's caused issues, he hasn't been a distraction. He was benched by the giants and took it well far as I know. He was praised for his mentoring of Dart. He may come off as phoney but an actual narcissist isn't going to be capable of that. Im willing to cut him some slack. His teammates these days seem to appreciate him, a veteran leader
“Russ is cool, man,” running back Devin Singletary said. “Always positive energy, always just trying to find ways to get better and bring everyone along with him. It’s not all about him. That’s one of the biggest things. He’s trying to make everybody better.”

He wasn't a distraction in Seattle? He wasn't a distraction in Denver? You're joking, right? He literally sunk the Drnver franchise (still makes me smile tho lol) No one is suggesting he is now - because he doesn't have the leverage, but when he did - he WAS. DOn't misunderstand, I do not think he's a bad guy - he's a guy that got swept in self-absorption - likely fueled by Ciara and his hangers-on, but at the end of the day - he is responsible. Still one of the most dynamic players we ever had - literally up until he started pouting he wasn't being treated like he was Tom Brady, which he wasn't, while endless product shilling and ignoring his on-field duties as the QB of the Seahawks.

HIm and Ciara can't not beg for the spotlight. It's what they do. I truly hope he ends up in Cleveland as I predicted - to complete the downfall - the direct result of an utterly selfish me-first player. NO one with any self respect goes to a back up QB role in Cleveland after 15 years in the league. No one - un less they need the money - or attention. That is the absolute bottom of the barrel.
