They traded for RS before Horton was injured but he became the replacement. Honestly I hadn't considered that aspect. I had basically forgotten about Horton. The consensus does seem they are interested in bringing RS back but he does seem a bit redundant terms of Horton.

Here's a thought, Rams are hinting at going all in next season with Stafford being both an MVP and at the end of his career. Where do the Rams need help, special teams, Rams go after shaheed. What would we think about that? Next season is going to be a slug fest

Snead said while there will be a "balance" with how the Rams continue to build their roster around Stafford, "The type of season he had, the type of season that he's still showing that he can have, there are only so many of those left. And the reasoning to do so is because Horton shows signs the very limited times that he is actually on the field. We'd rather gamble that Horton, for the first time in his college or pro career mind you, is going to stay healthy?

And the thought that a guy that scored three times in ST was a bad acquisition is laughable.

It has everything to do with the resources it will take to do so. Horton also had a PR for a TD. He also scored 5 TD's accruing similar targets as a wideout. Would he be as explosive as a KR as Shaheed? Likely not. A comparable wideout? It seems so.

Horton is going to cost you the league minimum to produce similar production. There's no way in hell I'm paying Shaheed $15M a year or whatever to primarily return kicks. That is a horrible way to allocate resources. He is not Devin Hester or Percy Harvin.

It was a bad acquisition given his lack of production at wideout.

I am 100% sure they did not trade for him expecting that he'd average 1.5 receptions and 22 yards receiving per game with 0 TD's.
