Honestly, we are back to debating ST stats? Having too many DHs is a bad thing these days? You want to grouse about shitty off seasons when they are favorites to go to the WS after this off season, OK. That's your prerogative. But just because Jude doesn't bring it up in his article doesn't make him a lackey to the mariners

This is starting to get crazy. This was off a pretty good MLB pitcher.

So we are going to promote Emerson off of AAA stats? That didn't work out to well for Cole Young. Colt couldn't even manage a 800 OPS in AA but he will be our 3B mid season because everyone thinks he is a top 10 prospect. I hope he is but won't be surprised if he isn't.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:48 pmHonestly, we are back to debating ST stats? Having too many DHs is a bad thing these days? I don't think so. He has no MLB experience. He has an option left. Pretty straight forward.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 12:02 amSo the mariners are in position to send him to Tacoma? Seems like in these situations the player has the option to be a FA.
Would be hilarious if he is the guy that win ROY and net us a PPI draft pick while Emerson toils in the minors. lol
Btw the how many PAs of Emerson's have you watched this Spring. I have watched at least a doze and they haven't been great.

And Hancock is looking dominant, the optimism is going to go through the roof!
Hancock has had three outings this spring. He's fanned at least four batters in every one. In each of this last two appearances, he's pitched more than two innings and hasn't allowed more than one run.
The biggest takeaways from Hancock's last two outings has been the command he has across his entire arsenal. In his outing against the Rangers, all four of his strikeouts came with a different pitch.

Maybe he takes over for Castillo who we probably should have traded...Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 12:06 amAnd Hancock is looking dominant, the optimism is going to go through the roof!

I'm really not concerned about Emerson's spring one way or the other. Struggling in spring training has no bearing on his prospect ranking. What's probably more interesting and seems to be overlooked is Young's ST. If he was struggling that raise questions about the roster, open the door for Emerson. But seems he's not, he's definitely not beginning the season in Tacoma so Emerson will be.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 12:05 amI don't think so. He has no MLB experience. He has an option left. Reflecting on last seasons two halvesYoung crushed a pair of pull-side homers in Friday’s 5-1 win over the Rangers -- off a 91.6 mph changeup from Jack Leiter at the bottom of the zone, and a 91.5 mph mistake fastball from reliever Ben Anderson over the heart of the plate.
He now has three in Cactus League play, tied for the team lead.
“Deep down, I knew that it was going to turn around,” Young said postgame. “And I knew I put in a lot of work this offseason. So, yeah, I'm just happy it showed a little bit today.”
https://www.mlb.com/news/cole-young-loo ... h-mariners“I look at both sides,” Young said. “It's like, ‘OK, what did I do when I was going well? What can I learn from that?’ And then also, I'll look on the bad side. It's like, 'OK, how can I prevent that from happening?' So I kind of take in both sides of it. But it's nice knowing that I did have success too, and it will be good for me that I failed, and can learn from that.”

Ironic that Young hit a total of 27 HRs in his entire minor league career and wasn't know as a contact hitter but now he is on his way because of 3 ST HRs and a .190 BA....

We have zero DH's and about 4 guys that aren't good enough to hold down a position without being platooned that we're calling a DH.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:48 pmHonestly, we are back to debating ST stats?
