With Rasheed being the interesting one. I feel rather proud of myself calling that one but it turned on Rasheed relenting in his demands which he didnt, everything points to JS being the one that relented. It really kinda blows my whole JS theory out of the water.

Contact demands.. It had seemed to me JS would set a number and pretty much stick to it terms of contract negotiations. It was about his cap strategy and player analysis rather than what another team might value a player. With shaheed it would seem like he bit the bullet, came up and met another teams offer. It had been reported him and rasheed being far apart on a number. That surprised the heck out of me.

So why was he willing to meet Rasheeds price and not Walkers? In my mind injury risk is a significant part of it

So your just guessing? Seems just as likely that Shaheed realized nobody wanted to pay top dollar for a role player reciever who is good at returning kicks and decided he would accept Johns offer. His contract is not that big for receiver.

I've already covered this. Shaheed is like the 24th highest paid WR in football, Walker is now like the 4th highest paid back. Value is what they went with. I am flat out blown away by the amount of doubt that this group that has seemed to earn exactly the opposite is getting.

He doesn't franchise tag guys that don't want to be here. Let me know when that has burned us in the ass? I'll wait.

It's generally considered that running backs are the most easily replaced, although there are rare exceptions.

I think Shaheed's speed plays into it. If they can find a way to use his speed to exploit defenses, he could end up being very dangerous. There's a saying in traffic law enforcement... 'Speed kills'. And speed is one of those 'uncoachable' traits... a player either has it, or he doesn't. I would be willing to bet that Macdonald had significant input regarding this decision.

I think they'll work on the timing and the routes, and get Shaheed more involved as a Percy Harvin type of weapon.
