That's not negotiation
Vice-President JD Vance has said that the US and Iran failed to reach an agreement following lengthy peace talks in Pakistan.

The delegations met in Islamabad, Pakistan during a temporary ceasefire.

Vance said the US "could not get to a situation where the Iranians were willing to accept our terms"

"The US tried to achieve at the negotiating table what it could not achieve through war."

Pretty much says it all.

Thought that was kinda funny. There's someone stationed to tackle Donald if he makes a move towards the football isn't there?

So now we're blockcading the strait, what happened to destroying a civilization? Talk about lowered expectations.
"I don't understand how blockading the strait is going to somehow push the Iranians into opening it," Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, told CNN on Sunday.

On CBS' Face the Nation programme, Republican congressman Mike Turner of Ohio, who until last year chaired the House Intelligence Committee, said the blockade is a means to force a resolution to the situation in Hormuz.

"The president, by saying we're not just going to let them decide who gets through, is certainly calling all of our allies and everyone to the table," he said. "This needs to be addressed."
Who could have imagined things getting so complicated. Middle East wars are usually so cut and dried

The Pope isn't afraid of Donald
“I have no fear neither of the Trump administration, nor of speaking out loudly about the message of the Gospel.” Asked directly about Trump’s comments on Truth Social, Leo said: “It’s ironic — the name of the site itself. Say no more.”

Even better is the unbridled TDS - while failing to understand that literally erveryone on this forum is currently pissed at Trump. Imagine being so blinded by hate and dulled by Risperdol that you missed that - what a beautiful display of lack-of-reading comprehension.

Sad.
It is true that everyone here is pissed at Trump because of Iran? The Fox News poll says that 77% of Republicans support the war. (Caveat: this is from two weeks ago.)

I think most on here are pretty disappointed in how he has completely gone off the rails - after a good first term. I know I voted for no wars - as did a lot of us - and now we are being dragged into another nonsensical war - looks like on behalf of Israel - again. The questions is WHY is Trump now bowing to Israel? He has to know it's killing his popularity. I reject that poll - I'm not a Republican. I am only about policy. Are there any trump voters on here that are pleased? If the US is being threatened, war thge war option is on the table - but we aren't. Most honest people see tnhis for what it is. And acfter opening the Epstein box and giving us a glimpse of what was inside - likely pointing the finger right at Israel or our own intelligence agencies - then pivoting awat dramatically - it's just succh a bad look. Can't put the genie back in the bottle. All Trump had to do was mimic his first term - but he has clearly been taken over and we need an explanation as to how/why.
