Hard to believe they got him at that price.

The oddsmakers certainly think so. Last year I bet them at +6500 for the SB. This year they were +750 on the day I placed my bet lol. FYI, M's were +1300 on my WS bet this year. Once around 1990 I bet them in Vegas when they were like +40000 lol and the guy at the book at the Stardust had to get a manager sign-off on the bet, because no fool had even bet them there yet.

They absolutely have what it takes - now you get into the 'luck' factor like injuries, etc, and having it all fall your way, like three two-point conversions in one game. The odds of nthat happening are very very low. Also a big factor is getting the number one seed - i think that is going to be dependant on how well they adapt to the new OC out of the gate - can't pile up[ losses and let the Lambe get out to a big division lead. That will be the most critical element, that and injuries, IMO. And motivation. Can they keep up the motivation after winning a ring?
Then only thing that's for sure, is if they DO win it again, SH will be like "yeah, that's cool, but if they had just traded back into the second round..."

I'd be even more hopeful if it wasn't likely that three of the top five or six best teams in the NFC weren't in the West. But? I've seen many power rankings that still have us 1 and the Rams 2.
Did anyone see the weird article about Fowler being a strange signing because he is strictly a pass rusher and it limits McDonald's ability to disguise the defense? Are you kidding me....isn't that usually the definition of an Edge RUSHER? A guy that rushes the passer?

but I think it's accurate to point out MM hasn't really utilized strictly edge rushers in the past. He's tended to use guys that he can rotate to the interior. I think it could speak to his being adaptable to talent as opposed to it having to fit his scheme. And disguising his defense is considered a big part of its success.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2026 4:32 pmI'd be even more hopeful if it wasn't likely that three of the top five or six best teams in the NFC weren't in the West. AI..
I don't know anything about Fowler. The question would seem to be is there a reason he wouldn't necessarily seem to fit that roleMike Macdonald's defensive philosophy, often termed "chasing edges" or the "Dark Side" defense, focuses on maximizing edge rusher impact through versatility, deception, and matchup advantages rather than rigid structural roles. As of 2026, he has established a reputation for developing edge defenders into multi-faceted weapons and utilizing them in unexpected ways

Were you listening to B and S this morning when some guy confirmed the Hawks had a 3rd round grade on Simpson? lolMichael K. wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2026 4:32 pmI'd be even more hopeful if it wasn't likely that three of the top five or six best teams in the NFC weren't in the West. So you use AI to accurately depict the intricacies of MM's D but you don't know anything about the 2015 3rd Overall pick that has 202 tackles 58.5 sacks?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2026 5:02 pmbut I think it's accurate to point out MM hasn't really utilized strictly edge rushers in the past. But that's the thing , it's not about the talent, it's how the talent fits the system. That was pointed out with that LB issue MMs first season. It's that relationship that needs to be considered. I think it's fair to speculate whether Fowler fits it or not. I'm gonna assume MM and JS know what they are doing terms of actually second guessing it. It's really about how it all fits together. MM hasn't been known for using strict edge rushers
