Yesss he had some good swings in limited abs and elite throwing arm. Garver should stay the backup.

Re: Breaking: Cal finally to the IL
If they had just put Cal on the IL two weeks ago he would probably be back already but now he could be out a month or more and all they gained from it was two weeks of shitty play from the 2-hole.
Re: Breaking: Cal finally to the IL
More concerning is that was he hurt in the WBC? He was horrible. And was he hurt all season thus far too?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 4:15 pmI don't know... Not to be too big an alarmist but I think injuries get overlooked when it comes to shitty seasons. Is this the kind of thing that can really derail his season
Can explain a lot. Or just added to a bad season and WBC.
Re: Breaking: Cal finally to the IL
One year I believe Jay Buhner got 123 RBI's with only 121 hits. He was a clutch hitter with RISP imo. Somebody can check to see if my recollections are correct.

Garver goes yard, 1st of the year, with JP aboard. 3 ribbies on the season!!!
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!
Re: Breaking: Cal finally to the IL
Actually got my numbers reversed. It was '95 and Buhner got 121 RBIs with 123 hits. It was his first of 3 consecutive 40 or 40+ homer seasons.

Yep he was my favorite player on those teams. Well him and Edgar of course.

Castillo starts the fifth with an efficient pitch count (55 pitches) and a substantial lead. A shutout inning would be great for him and the ~Mariners.

Me too, Darren. I loved his open stance, felt he always had great vision and balance at the plate.D-train wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 7:20 pmYep he was my favorite player on those teams. Well him and Edgar of course.
