Maybe but I kind of doubt it. I think it's more likely that he's performing at or very near his actual physical ability right now.Sports Hernia wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 5:03 amUsed to be a big fan of JK.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 4:57 amIt was kind of interesting to watch JK again. He's still setting up quite a ways off the plate, which I'll never understand. And he still can't handle offspeed and bendy stuff, especially down low. I've wondered at times if the problem is simply his vision, that he has some sort of slight issue with pitches at lower trajectories.
His approach is still horrible and his mentality is still bad.
He has all the physical tools but the problem is between the ears.
How many promotions do we need to get you to buy a White Sox Game Ticket (Mon GT)

Not a bad turn out for a White Sox game on a Monday night. Congratulations to the promotions team.
Att:31,409.
Watched this on catchup - so have to applaud the intelligence of Pereda to get that second run which was crucial at the time. Not many players would have thought to do that, unless it was prompted by third base coach in which case credit goes there.
Colt Emerson's first career home run. I wonder how much that ball will be worth in the long-run for his career? As mentioned earlier, is a Kelenic career or a Hall of Fame one?
Pleased for the lad.

Who would even want a DH/2B bat that doesn't need to be platooned, and hits like Ichiro anyways?

Except it's apples and oranges, we don't need a second baseman and he wasn't signing with the mariners to DH
Arraez chose to sign with the Giants on a one-year deal despite reportedly turning down longer, multi-year offers from other clubs. His primary motivation for this deal was the opportunity to return to his natural position as a regular second baseman, rather than exclusively playing first base
“They gave me a big opportunity,” Arraez said. “They trust me. They want me to go out there and enjoy it and play my natural position. That’s why I picked this job here.”

And now the kid they're using instead has a sub-.700 OPS.
At least he can play good defense though! Lol.

People always say that but there are a lot of examples of Head Cases that could hit. He just doesn't have the hand eye coordination to hit MLB breaking balls like 99.99% of the population. No idea why that is so hard for people to grasp and accept.Sports Hernia wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 5:03 amUsed to be a big fan of JK.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 4:57 amIt was kind of interesting to watch JK again. Exactly. He could hit AAA pitching just fine. If he was a mental case he wouldn't even been able to do that.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 5:20 amMaybe but I kind of doubt it. Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!
We really should have put the Sux away a lot earlier in the game, but great to see a Colt Jolt to eventually bury them. There are gong to be growing pains but hopefully not to the point where he's dogshit out there.
