JP can't even cut it as a shortstop. Why would we want him at 3B...
JP is slow. Range at SS is a premium along with CF. Leo was OK at third base as a defender but shit The bed with the bat JP is a big upgrade over him and can hold it down until Donovan gets healthy. JP has a decent bat and has a bit of “clutch” in him.

Do you not see the same?
While 3rd may be a good spot with JP reduced range/speed. I can believe his arm can handle the position. We have seen so many poor throws from him. Maybe Young at 3rd and Emerson SS and Crawford at 2nd. To be fair though I am fine with him gone/retired after year is over.
SS requires a bigger arm than 3B. After watching Cole throw I cannot believe he ever played on the left side of the INF. He makes JP seems like Brooks Robinson. JP will be gone so we can all rest easy...

The statement of "JP being one of their better bats" is a damning statement of how bad our hitting is. :)
:!: :!: :!:

btw JP has the 6th highest OPS on the team so not one of the better bats in terms of "regulars"
