HANCOCK & M's to GAUGE a BLACK HOLE JUMP GT 5-26-26

Post by rockycola » Tue May 26, 2026 5:34 am

Former Yankees and Mets pitcher Luis Severino ("Severe El Niño") is in year two with the A's. Here's an excerpt from SBNation about him.
~
"It hasn’t been easy serving as the Athletics’ ace during their brief time in Sacramento. Over the last two years, Luis Severino has pitched to a very respectable 3.14 ERA and 3.69 FIP on the road. At home, it’s been an ugly 5.91 ERA and a 4.68 FIP. At least he’s been able to rekindle some of that electric stuff that made him one of the most exciting pitchers in baseball nearly a decade ago. He’s throwing his fastball harder than he has since 2018, though he’s also throwing his heater less often than ever too. Instead, he’s leaning on his sweeper much more often and mixing in a sinker and cutter to give batters three different fastballs to deal with. His strikeout rate has benefitted — it’s the highest it’s been since 2022 — but his walk rate has jumped up to 11.7% too."

The "MILLIKIN" Effect will be in play again this contest which enhances the Seattle Mariner's chances of success as he has purchased tickets and will be in attendance once more on Tuesday. Millikin helped influence a Memorial Day 4 home run barrage and a 9-2 win while cheering on our beloved ;) team. He'll be in the stands of Sutter Health Park in Sacramento using His Force again. Post more pics, buddy. At least one selfie is requested!

Emerson Hancock has been perhaps our best pitcher so far this season. This will be his 11th start.

6:40 P.M. is first pitch.

Mariners need to make Severino hit the zone - he's walking guys like crazy - 2nd most in MLB. If M's are patient and wait for their pitch, they could send him to an early exit. Weather report says wind has calmed markedly vs. yesterday, so they should play to advance the runner if BB's afford the opportunity, rather than depend on fair winds.

A's starting Gage Jump (that's a name) instead of Severino.

He's a lefty.

Jump has a 4.50 ERA in AAA and is walking 5 batters per 9.

If they can't hit this asshole...

Shocking that the A's would promote a lefty starter to replace a righty while we were in town.....

Gage Jump has been a prospect name for a number of years so I'm curious to see him pitch.

Good grief, 6th grade strategy, so easy. Now Ref, Garver, and Robles at .101 .105 & .188 in the order.

Wow...the A'ss change to a lefty who completely and totally SUCKS, and Wilson for the...how many times now?...makes the same mistake AGAIN. Seriously, why not just also put Wisdom in the lineup and call Tacoma and get Joe back down to Sacramento while we're at it? Wilson is such an IDIOT.
