Carroll explained the unexpected move during his Friday afternoon press conference.
“We stepped up his work in the first couple days knowing that we were earnestly working to get ready,” Carroll said. “He’s just not ready. It’s unfortunate and I feel bad for him and all, but [placing him on IR is] just the right thing to do. He’s not ready to play yet. He was ready to get back to practice. He did that. When we pushed it up, you could just tell. We had to move him back to IR. The only way we could get him, we had to activate him on Wednesday to make him available.”
Had Seattle not made the roster move by Wednesday’s deadline, Dickson would not have been able to return this season.
“We had a good day’s work, and you could tell,” Carroll said. “I sat with him and talked about it and talked through it. He understood. He could tell. He doesn’t quite feel as ready as he needs to be.”

Bulaga yes, Olsen no. We don't need another Dissly. Either Hooper, Henry, or draft pick. How's Bulaga's durability?

Its absolute lunacy that Marijuana is still a banned substance anywhere other than elementary schools.ThePro wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 12:50 amThere isn't but when the NFL commissioner says on national tv they want to "help" Antonio Brown .
There are no reports of Gordon using racial slurs at GM. There are no rape accusations against Gordon. There are no videos of weird behavior by Gordon. There are no videos of Gordon throwing candy penis at the police and swearing at them and the mother of his children in front of his kids. Josh Gordon wasn't arrested for assault.
If the NFL is going to reinstate that asshole. They need to let the Hawks have Gordon. I think a QB and a coach from Boston used their connections to get Gordon suspended so they didn't look foolish for releasing him .

obviously not good, or he would not be on the market. i'm assuming Fant wont find a suitor for his chances at LT, and comes back here as a RT option at a reasonable price, mitigating the durability risk. honestly dont know what we have in Fant since he hasnt supplanted Ifedi, but cant be that much worse, and Bulaga when healthy is a big upgrade, particularly in pass pro.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 5:35 amBulaga yes, Olsen no. believe there are issues there that go deeper than just making marijuana legal, he has substance abuse issuesD-train wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 5:36 amIts absolute lunacy that Marijuana is still a banned substance anywhere other than elementary schools.ThePro wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 12:50 amThere isn't but when the NFL commissioner says on national tv they want to "help" Antonio Brown .

that is really the interesting aspect to the thing, he seems to have this self awareness that is unusual and refreshing, but it hasn't been any help for him. From everything i have read over all the years of this, there has never been anything remotely inferring he feels he is being victimized, that the rules are unfair or something, that is really pretty remarkable. Everything he has ever talked about is getting help.

Hawkbowler prediction:
If Will Dissly can manage to play a full season he will be a super star. That kid in Santa Clara is pretty good, and we saw the boost he gave the 49ers. Add a Gronk like TE to the third best running attack in the game and what do you get? If Dissly stays healthy in 2020, that factor alone, as Hawkbowler predicts, will put the Hawks in the Super Bowl.

Achilles injuries can be career changing, but if you are not considered fast in the first place maybe its not such a factor
Re: Greg Olsen visiting the Hawks
Carson had the hip. He is awesome but the best per snap back I ever seen was Bo Jackson and the hip injury ended his football career and gave you 65% Bo baseball. Count me concerned.
Dissly, I don't have any stats nor the time to research his 2 big injuries. He looks like a star tight end based on his games played and quick connection with Russ. Graham is a hands down a star TE but I would take Dissly over him any day. Again, count me as concerned.
Seattle could be a Superbowl champion next year or not.
Adding Greg Olsen as a guy that can block and catch to Dissly who can block and receive + Wilson or Hollister looks potent.
I would like to add a TE, WR, Line to offense and then at least Clowney plus top 5 edge.
They gut a 1st and 2 2nds so some starters/top rotation should be from draft as well

The word I heard shortly after the injury is it was not the same as Bo's injury. But, I can understand the concern.
