They're only paying Garver a million this season but I can see this ownership still trying to get something out of the 24 million in sunken cost.
Pretty sure it's 2 million
Weird, baseball reference has him at 1 million and they don't prorate (I checked Bryce Harper's salary to make sure), Google says 2.25 million. We're not paying him the league minimum? He should be like Jake Taylor and when asked by people what he's making, mumble "The league minimum".
Spotrac, I believe, is the best source for this sort of thing: https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id ... tch-garver

This shows him making 2.25 million this year.

"Is that you Tolbert....this shit aint funny. I'm hungover...my knees are killing me, and if you were going to pull this shit at least you could have said you were with the Yankees!"
Underrated moment in that film when the golddigger asks Jake that question. It's a weird answer as opposed to saying $ 180,000 or whatever it was at the time, but presumably he said it that way to turn her off.

I took it differently. Seems like they were making at seem as though they are paid based on how good they are, she wanted to know how good he was....he said he made the league minimum. That is when Rene Russo mentions that he was one of the best in the game before hurting his knees, and the new man shoots her a look.
