Husgars at Coukies Sunday Game Thread 2\9

Post by rockycola » Mon Feb 10, 2020 12:31 am

WSU has a 53 - 45 lead over UW with 12 1/2 excruciating minutes to go.
Tsohonis is turning out to be perhaps the best player on the team now that he's been set loose.
McD has been pretty good off the bench except for the stupid turnovers (as frequent as pancakes being flipped at IHOP).
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

I actually was persuaded by looking at the season so far that this team has enough quality players to start a nice winning streak and go into the Pac tourney with an actual chance to win it. How did I ever think a thing like that? This team is totally clueless. They are actually worse than Romar's worst in my opinion. How did we end up like this? It's probably a combo of selfish play and uncoachableness coupled with a coach that really is not very good at all. One and done???? More like done and done.

Yeah, it's starting to look like even the collegeinsider.com tournament is going to be out of reach for this team. Just pathetic. I'll bet Isaiah Stewart is feeling real good about his choice to go to UW instead of one of the upper echelon teams he could be playing for right now.

Stewart has stunk for a few weeks now. The dude was 3 for 10 from the field today and took three 3s! He gets far too much of a pass. He has quite just like the rest of them.

And 5 turnovers from a post? Yeah, what would we have ever done with out the mighty Stewart! Our two 5 stars combined for 10 turnovers! Send then to the D League now and play kids that want to be here.

So you think Stewart would be playing like this if he had gone to Kentucky or Duke? Not a chance. McDaniels is a different story. He would never have seen the light of day at one of those colleges.

Come on, you can't get done-er than done can you? You are right. I actually had it that way and changed it. Either way, I think you need to know more about a recruit than how they play basketball. If they can't be coached to play the way you want then they are not going to be worth the bother. I think Stewart is coachable but he's on a team with others that aren't and that adds up to a waste of time for him and the rest of the team. And the fans as well. I sure feel like this season has been a waste of time.

So, Stewart would be playing harder had he gone somewhere else, and somehow that is a good thing?

It's not that he would play harder but he would be more effective and able to play his game. This is the year to showcase his talents and he ends up on a team that can't find it's ass with both hands. It's got to be hard for a kid to keep up the attitude when his coach puts him in a situation where he is constantly double and triple teamed while the rest of the team is basically inept and unable to take advantage of it. If he had gone to Kentucky or Duke he wouldn't be such a target.
