Upside Comp for Laz: Schwarber 29% K rate, 38 bombs per 600, .850 OPS
Downside Comp for Laz: Gallo 38% K rate, 37 bombs per 600, .775 OPS

I think we could use Arroyo now simply because he exudes confidence at the plate. It's like he can't wait to get up there.

Maybe we should have called him up instead of trading for Taylor Ward. At the very least we should have called him up instead of that Stuart Fairchild. For all the good that scrub is going to do we might as well have called up Morgan Fairchild.

I think if they wait until September to call him up they don't burn an option year.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 4:45 pmMaybe we should have called him up instead of trading for Taylor Ward. To me that's farsighted. Risking a playoff spot because of something five years from now. I can actually see it making sense with Anderson as he's a once-in-a-generation talent, but not Arroyo.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 4:47 pmI think if they wait until September to call him up they don't burn an option year.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 4:45 pmMaybe we should have called him up instead of trading for Taylor Ward. I don't think they believe this team will secure a postseason slot either way so why burn an option on the player? They did the minimum to keep up appearances, moving Castillo and bringing in Taylor Ward, and not trading Randy.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 4:51 pmTo me that's farsighted. Does anyone truly believe that the players that you all are so high on in 2A and 3A will be great next year? Or will they be more like Emmerson is this season.... learning the ropes?

They would be far more interesting to follow than the Refsnyder/Mastrobuoni/Urias type players that Jerry tops off the roster with every year.
