Has anyone talked to these players in order to attempt to understand what makes hitting a baseball at T-Mobile ballpark so difficult for them? Or, for that matter, studied the available data on batted balls and whiff rates for T-Mobile vs other ballpark? That way they might figure out a profile for the type of hitter that isn't likely to fail or be successful here.
Teoscar gave a pretty good breakdown, don't you think?
Yes but that was just him volunteering some information. I'm wondering if anyone with the Mariners has tried to do a comprehensive study to determine why so many players struggle here with the bat.
   How would that increase revenues???

Mike Trout and Aaron Judge both have OPSs over 1.100 at T-Mobile.
They must have amazing visual acuity to be able to pick up the ball so well with that crooked batters eye.
Perhaps they keep their eyes on the ball instead of the batter's eye.

Maybe the Mariners need their vision checked
The competition seems to hit fine.

So, you found two of the best hitters of this generation as proof that anyone can hit here? OK

Usually you can attribute that to our pitching but not this season.

Sure, why not? Proof that it can be done by the game's better hitters, and amazingly those two have OPSs at T-Mobile that far exceed their career OPSs and in Trout's case the sample size is 98 games.

Last year Cal hit 28 of his 60 home runs at T-Mobile and his OPS was .893 (32 home runs and .999 on the road). Nelson Cruz had an OPS of .849 at T-Mobile and a career OPS of .856. Robinson Cano had an OPS of .817 at T-Mobile and a career OPS of .839. Ichiro had an OPS of .778 at T-Mobile and a career OPS of .756. Kyle Seager (who played his entire career with the Mariners at T-Mobile) had an OPS of .721 at T-Mobile and .801 on the road. An aging Edgar Martinez managed an .879 OPS at T-Mobile and a career OPS of .933 (.977 at the Kingdome). Alex Rodriguez had an OPS of .880 at T-Mobile and a career OPS of .930 (.923 at the Kingdome). Despite his whining, Junior in 1999 put up an OPS of .998 at T-Mobile while putting up an OPS of 1.006 at the Kingdome and .920 on the road.

The point is that almost 100 times out of 100 you're going to hit better on the road at T-Mobile, but there's no reason why a Mariner player has to walk up to home plate, curl up into a ball and start sucking his thumb like Adrian Beltre did for five years.

The data has been shared over and over in here. Shit, just compare our pitchers at home and away! Not to mention, hitting here ends up fucking with the approach of the guys we have.

Hernandez hated it here and he had a 2.3 WAR and a .741 OPS.

The seasons before he got here?
3.5 and 3.0 WAR with OPS of .870 and .807

The season after he left?
4.1 WAR and .840 OPS

Pretending that this stadium has nothing to do with a hitter is preposterous.
T-Mobile Park suppresses overall offensive production by roughly 9% to 11% compared to the rest of Major League Baseball, earning a multi-year overall park factor around 91 (where 100 is neutral). This makes it consistently the most extreme pitcher-friendly environment in the majors, inversely rivaling Coors Field.
Ballpark Factors and Run SuppressionOverall Park Factor: T-Mobile Park regularly grades out at or near 30th in overall MLB offensive friendliness.
Hit and Run Inhibition: Hit factors generally hover around the 89 mark, meaning base hits are roughly 11% harder to come by than the league norm.
Strikeout Environment: Statcast metrics point to T-Mobile Park acting as an intense strikeout-heavy venue, with strikeout park factors climbing to roughly 113 (13% higher than average).

Home vs. Road ERA Splits
Rather than looking at a single static ERA number for the park, the suppressive nature shows up dramatically in stark home/road splits for pitchers. For instance, pitching staffs in Seattle regularly post home ERAs that skew more than a full run lower at T-Mobile Park compared to their numbers on the road (such as historic home/road variances of 2.73 ERA at home versus 4.27 ERA away)
Pointing to what Trout and Judge do here as a counter is like saying that a defense gave up 100 yards rushing to Barry Sanders so they aren't a good run defense. Come on man, you're better than that.

I'm not excusing Beltre, but for God's Sake, he was pedestrian here and an MVP candidate before he got here and after he left. Sorry, it's hard to argue with facts.

Michael, you've got to read the whole thing, not just yawn and fall asleep after the first sentence like Mr. Bean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh__g-ZZ6WA

How is it possible that, after 27 seasons of playing baseball there, the Mariners organization has not been able to pinpoint precisely what suppresses offense at R-Mobile and take steps to mitigate it.
