I literally yell for Milroe to run it on every play. I'm usually disappointed.
Just trade him for a 2037 conditional 7th rounder at this point and move on. lol

Sam Howell is still in the NFL. I'm a little surprised.
3rd best QB in Hawks history named Sam.
worse than Adkins? that might be stretching it.
Atkins was 17-39 for 232 yards 2 TDs and 4 picks

Howell was 5-14 for 24 yards 0 TDs and 1 Pick

Not even close! lol

I saw maybe half the game, by biggest takeaway was how fun Milroe could be with the 1's. He made a couple of great plays and throws but was mostly under duress behind the back ups. He made a crazy fourth down pass on a scramble for a first down that was, of course, nullified by a penalty. Clark has potential and Mills needs reps/experience but both could be formidable. Everyone looks rusty in this scenario, so don't overthink it.

Oh, I also saw some very clever play calling from Fleury. I don't think he's going to show much in preseason, it was mostly vanilla and basic, but I liked what I saw in some of the schemes and formations. I can see him being a quality OC. He's gonna make defenses have to work harder. Overall, it was a mostly crappy game, but there are bright spots and they are using this game for the right reasons - get the rookies experience, get Fleury experience, look for any surprise stand outs. We lost the game but it wasn't a lost cause at all.

Agree with everything but Milroe. In ten years Sam will still be our QB1 and Milroe will have been out of football for 7-8 years.

Adkins has to be #1, I mean, we retired his number. 😄

You know the comparison isnt Darnold, its the guy youre giving the final spot on the roster to....

Hawk blogger on Milroe...first its silly trying to grade him on a tiny handful of plays visible to the public. He feels hes showing progress in practice. And its funny that theres this opinion to just move on from him when the team is currently being qbed by a player that was probably moved on from too quickly. Isnt Darnold a poster boy for that? And why exactly? You are planning on finding a player for the 53rd place on the roster that has more upside than a possible starting qb? Seriously?

A tiny handful? He played 30 snaps and a handful were good.

Milroe's sample size is far too small to draw an accurate conclusion. Going from the NCAA to the NFL - you have to be playing to adapt and grow into the game at this level - esspeciually at QB. 30 snaps isn't anywhere near enough to draw a conclusion. I do not know if he can/will be a quality starter, but he has intangibles that are highly sought after - if Seattle cuts him he'll be picked up immediately. Watching him run - that is just hard to defend. You put a robber on him and that takes someone away from coverage or pass rushing. There are glimpses - and no one is lighting it up with the third stringers in the first preaseason game without having significant reps. It's an interesting situation - a good one to have. There just is not enough sample size to really know at this point.
