Losing sucks 8/18GT
Re: Losing sucks 8/18GT
Fugly game. Lost by a football score. Jeezus.
The strategy must have been let them crush the ball over the field and tire themselves out so they’ll have noodle arms for tomorrow’s game. Love that strategy, boys!

They're saying that this is the biggest shutout since 1888, but you really can't say that if a position player literally on purpose gives up the last nine runs. Let's just call this one what it really was, 13-0. Still sucks but that was the real score tonight.

Morning everyone, it was painful just watching the condensed game lowlights so that must have been one of the most embarrassing nights in Mariner history for those who stayed with it.
I suppose its also one where I can easily hide behind timezone and not have to suffer as much as you lot have.
So sad.

It was a simple retort to your comment about DiPoto being my relative and stemmed from you unnecessarily trying to belittle my arguments. Obviously I don't think that's the reason why you're so bothered by DiPoto just like it's obvious that he's not my relative. I apologize if that was offensive to you, that was not my intention whatsoever. It wasn't supposed to be a personal attack at all, and I was shocked that you took it that way.
And Daniel, if its any help to add some constructive feedback. its a common theme from your posts that you undo your obvious intelligence by having a dig at the person who you are debating with.
Your points should stand alone without any need to have any sort of dig at the person.
Here is a "for instance".
If this was your post you would end it with something like, "whats the matter with you, did the girl who you were stalking in debate class go off with your brother or something??? "
Far too often you hijack your own opinion and DT's response was probably just being exhausted by the number of times you will have done it to him or others. Death by a thousand posts, perhaps?
Take out that kind of nonsense and people might take your points more seriously.

And Dipshito is still going to keep his job. Dan is gone, it's just a matter of time, but he isn't the issue.
Stanton and Dipshtio are, but everyone knows that.
The fans that continue to go to the games....shame on them.

True what you say about Dip, Dan and Stan.acctingman wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 11:36 amAnd Dipshito is still going to keep his job. Dan is gone, it's just a matter of time, but he isn't the issue.

But boycotting the team - that worked for the Las Vegas Athletics didn't it ? No team's supporters have ever toppled an ownership through starving the team of money in any sport, anywhere in the world....ever.

I was drunk and lost my marbles primarily because of it but you or any other poster should NEVER bring up other members family members. I did think your take was crazy defending Jerry's pathetic tenure but you will never get banned for your opinion. I appreciate your apology. All good. Let's move on.DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 4:03 amDarren, you know I've been on this forum since it was the Seattle times forum. I remember when the ST did an article on you. We have you to thank for the existence of marinertalk.com. You're the man, and this is a great platform with a lot of great contributors.
You said my take was "insane" and never walked it back. The Cano contract was not good. Felix was not good. The farm system was in shambles when Jerry took over. The Mariners have won two post season series in the last 4 years. The farm has been replenished. These are not "foolish" assertions, they are facts.
When I make an argument and someone presents solid contrary arguments, then I acknowledge it. You could have easily just said, "good points", but instead you called me "insane" and now you're calling me a bitch and a fool.
And, please don't give me the Will Smith "put my wife's name in your mouth" line. It was a simple retort to your comment about DiPoto being my relative and stemmed from you unnecessarily trying to belittle my arguments. I know that you and others on this forum have agreed with my takes at times and disagreed at other times, and that's all good in my view. That's the whole point of the forums. Although I don't see myself as "running around with pants down looking like a fool" whatsoever, I do agree that we shouldn't be banning people willy nilly. This forum should remain a beacon of free speech and people shouldn't have to worry about getting banned for saying the wrong thing.

I believe it tied the record. Which is really a typical thing for the mariners to do, tie a record instead of setting oneDavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 3:01 pmBut does it really count if a position player gives up 9 runs on purpose?
Brewers equaled baseball's modern-era record for the biggest shutout with a power surge that included three-run homers from Christian Yelich, David Hamilton and Luis Lara, and a two-run shot by Jake Bauers.
