Miles Garrett Heads to IR

Post by auroraave » Sun Sep 13, 2026 4:04 pm

The Super team already enjoying some "adversity". Weird how, apparently, they've already won the Super Bowl, despite being 0-1.

Let's see what the Aaron Donald excuse will be for underperforming.

Imagine if after being annointed the greatest team ever, they end up missing the playoffs. That'd be a damn shame. There goes McVey's hair gel endorsement deal.

Hard to read much into this one, other than they over thought a situation. Seriously, that flight and they thought they could treat it like any other road trip? I wonder how many analytical experts are now going to have their ideas tossed out because they only look at equations and not human beeings?
In their previous three overseas games, the team was 3-0, including a win over the Jaguars in London last October, where they deployed a similar travel plan. That worked to perfection as they blew out the eventual AFC South champs by 28 points.

However, the Rams had an easier time on that trip in particular because they flew directly from Baltimore to London, since they played the Ravens the week before, according to ESPN. By doing that, LA cut an 11-hour flight to seven hours.

For those of you who don’t know geography well — clearly the Rams’ coaching staff didn’t — Melbourne, Australia is quite a trek from the West Coast. The flight was over double what the team flew from Baltimore to London. To illustrate how baffling the plan was from the get-go, new 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans had a priceless reaction upon learning when LA arrived.

They are saying the right things, not blaming the travel. But Good God this was dumb.

They were supposedly using humans...what I don't understand is why? Why all the effort to not just go for the week? What I think is being missed is they were supposed to be ambassadors of the game. Wasn't that what it was about? . The 49ers spent the week working the PR, making fans. It seems kind of insulting to Australia to just showup, play the game and leave. And it's odd too because months ago it was Shanahan complaining about it. McVay was like brown nosing the league with comments about how great it was going to be. And Shanahan goes down there and spanks them, what a strange deal
The Los Angeles Rams sent 15 staff members to Australia over a two-year period to track sleep rhythms and test travel logistics before their historic regular-season game in Melbourne
What was the obsession with not spending the week there? They hate Australia?

No, but you don't look like a genius if you just do what everyone else does. Arrogance and Ignorance is all this was. And it's hilarious.

Yeah, they felt it gave them a better chance to win. They didn't want to need to practice there i guess. But it seems like being offered a trip to Hawaii and spending all your time trying not to be there

Might as well change the title of this thread to "Why did the dumbass Hams wait so long to fly to Australia". Personally, my only point of reference in comparison is flying to Saudi Arabia in August of 1990 in a C-4 Galaxy. Stopovers in Delaware and Germany and about 20 hours in the air. Can't really compare though as I disembarked in the worst heat I'd ever felt and probably couldn't have played a game of tiddlywinks outdoors let alone football.
