"Load management" is a buzzword pundits like to toss around to sound smart, but it's really a by product of depth. Seattle has depth at the position so they can take advantage of it. Fewer hits, less mileage, and differing skillsets. Imagine 20 carries for 20 games - 400 touches before adding in receiving. That's a heavy toll. It has controversial aspects, particularly in the NBA these days.auroraave wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:03 pmI liked walker quite a bit and he came on strong late in the season when we really needed him to, and he def took better advantage of the blocking in front of him. Losing him was tough, but I understand the math behind it. It's also smarter to split carries in the NFL if you have the personnel to do so. Seattle does. It's a 20 game season to win the SB - it takes a huge toll. If Walker was getting more carries - he may not have had the gas or the legs for the stretch run. People keep forgetting just how long the season is. 20 games. Price is a lower cost option, younger, cheaper. It's a stategic move that I support. It's got nothing to do with not wanting Walker. The money simply needs to go elsewhere - also - we have a massive draft haul coming up - we can add another cheap RB. This is "playing the long game."trharder wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2026 4:49 pmNear the end of the season last year, mostly after Charbs went down, Walker changed his running a little. He was more patient. He was trusting his blocks more. It was paying dividends. His best two runs in a game were just as likely to be between the tackles as the "bounce and go around" run. I thought it was a big enough deal to redefine where the ceiling was for K9. I thought there was good reason to kiss ass a little and do what K9 wanted to keep him on the team. He's not a dipshit like DK and Woolen. Anyone who could babysit drunk John Schneider at the SB parade can't be a bad guy.
I'm not but hurt it turned out the way it did. I think it's fun having a dude like Shaheed on the team too. I like Price so far. I'm just saying I think there was a good case to be made to pay him enough and promise him a higher percentage of the carries.

SB Parade. The Ring Ceremony. Ask trharder. He was totally loaded not that there is anything wrong with that. And just look at him. He looks like a homeless person most of the time...Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:07 pmWhat are you looking at?D-train wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:00 pmIn the takes one to know one category JS is definitely a highly functional alcoholic.trharder wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2026 4:49 pmNear the end of the season last year, mostly after Charbs went down, Walker changed his running a little. Okay, he was drinking at the parade. He definitely isn't concerned about his appearance. Which is pretty cool for a guy in that position, that's self confidence. I was going try and find a reel I saw of him I think after the Pats game. I was thinking, that guy has no inhibition.
I found this instead, this is pretty wild. I hadn't seen this. This is MM after being hired as HC. That's unbelievable, and bringing it up, he has issues too.

It was an extremely difficult time," he said. "I've never felt like that in my life. I was sick. I'd go home, I'd get in bed as soon as I got home. I wouldn't get out of bed until I went to work. I'd be late going to work. In the weekend, I wouldn't get out of bed all weekend. I'd just sit in bed. It was crazy. But is it depression? I don't know. Maybe. I find it hard to self-diagnose depression. There's serious cases of depression that are clinically diagnosed
You'd appreciate he brings up losing his dog as a contributing factor"If I could get some physical, personal wins, then I could just start stacking those things," he said. "But I'd take two hourlong walks, I'd call some of the players. But I need to get out. So I'd work out, walk, try to try to eat better. I was drinking a lot.

And speaking of, see this, Bill Bellichicks son resigning. Supposedly the son's involved drugs. Talk about crash and burn
"The investigation determined that certain actions demonstrated a disregard for Carolina's values and standards of conduct. The investigation also found that these actions were isolated in scope and not a systemic failure.
"As the University previously announced, General Manager Michael Lombardi resigned from the program effective September 3. Steve Belichick has resigned from his position of defensive cordinator, effective October 27, 2026, following the conclusion of his current medical leave [/quote

Wow! Such a contrast to the guy we saw in hard knocks. Stunning actually. Goes to show you NEVER know what is going on with someone behind the scenes....Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 2:49 pmOkay, he was drinking at the parade.
