This is your superstar Russ, I really hope your kidding, I seriously hope your kidding. I pray your kidding. At this point I'd be clamoring for Stefon Diggs.
I don't think they are done. This is a low risk , very high reward move. There is something going on with Diggs. He just recently deleted everything Vikings related on IG . He and Russell have been buddy buddy since Pro Bowl.
Hypothetically where would he play in this offense?
Diggs would be what they hoped Jaron Brown would be....playing the WR position. Tyler in the slot and DK as a Split End. However, remember the last "buddy" of Russell who played for us, was the enigmatic Jimmy Graham.

What does that have to do with anything?

He has played 30 games the last 3 years but production per game and per reception has fallen off. That said, He would still rank at the top of the Hawks Y/Rec list right next to Dissly. 7 Million is not cheap and I only see Olsen as a solid player he will be a good option along with Dissly, & Hollister.

I know we will get a handful of players from the draft but right now we need:
D-line, 1 preferred 2 edge players and at least 1 interior on the D-line. two Edge players could cost 40 million easily.
Oline, We may or may not retain C Justin Britt, LG, RT, are free agents and we are losing probably the best non-starter T/TE Fant.
Those are the top two position groups in need.

Other positions
WR another good receiver to go with DK, and Tyler. I am holding some hope that the new collective bargaining and no week testing allows Gordon to be that and be had at a relative discount. *Hope* But still a need.
TE I think we are good here with dropping Ed Dickson and adding Olsen.
LB We lost Kendricks and KJ is a potential cut and getting older. (depends on what you think of Barton and KJ status might need nothing or 2)
RB, I have seen many reports that Carson, and Penny should be good to go and we are only replacing Procise. (Draft pick should be fine)
DBS I think the safety position looked good at years end. I know not many were pleased with Flower but I thought he was OK and mainly no pass rush is to blame for what we viewed as poor pass D.

I didn't go into full detail on line top (x) rotation being either free-agents, restricted, or cap casualties but we can look that up. Draft picks playing at a high-level right away is not the norm. Some exceptions happen and are usually super high picks like Bosa, etc.

I don't mind this signing but TE was not a huge hole that needed to be addressed first. Defensive line, Offensive line and the secondary all have holes that seem bigger then TE right now.

I hope this signing works out, otherwise Olson could be making more to fill Ed Dickson's spot on the IR this season.

TE still a need regardless. Can't trust either of those 2 to stay healthy. Either day 2 or 3 pick.

the order doesnt matter so long as everything does get addressed. this only happened first as a matter of opportunity, not priority - Olsen was cut, before FA, so the auction is now, not later. and makes him more valuable since he doesnt cost a comp pick. as for durability - missed only 2 games last year, from concussion, not a lingering injury.

Yes, he had 598 yards in 14 games so nearly a 799 yard/ season pace so decent production.

If Cable were still here, he'd be snapping to Russell. :(
