Hats off to Dan Quinn for inspiring his Redskin squad into punch Seattle in the mouth and saving his job. For now.

This wasn't just a loss, it was an ugly, sloppy, uninspiring game. I think injuries finally caught up to Seattle - and that is going to happen. Our streak of balls bouncing our way has been snapped - along with a 12 game winning streak. Bradford, Okada and Love would have made a big difference in this game, IMO. Bradford is a straight mauler in the run game and his absense felt noticeable. The secondary replacements are just not ready for prime time yet. And that's not a knock on them - you can't have unlimited quality of depth - no team has that - but we really needed Bradford and our secondary guys.

But alas.

This loos feels like the Tampa loss last year - we'll be fine. It's not soul crushing, just annoying.

More than anything in this game, I was utterly baffled by the insistance on running to the right on first down - regardless of the defense alignment. There was a play, late in the second or early third, where the Redskins literally had nine men in the box - and we fucking ran it and got stuffed for a loss. If you are ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER going to use play action - that is literally the most perfect time. I told myself if they run that stupidity again I am turning off the game. I could not believe my eyes. I mean what the literal fuck was that?

I thought Sam played well overall - yeah, the turnovers hurt, but the crazy result of the pic-six was it literally lit a fire under Seattle and they marched right down the field. I was surprised trehre was no effort at tempo during the game. A lot of sleepwalking and running the fucking play clock down to zero which was my biggest pet peeve of the entire Russell fucking Wilson era outside of his relentless brand shilling.

STOP GETTING CUTE AND JUST RUN A FUCKING PLAY.

Price has to get his shit together. He may need time to adjust to this level - his first touch was an 11 yard blast so we know he ball out. But, obvi, he's gotta hold on to the ball and learn better receiver skills. A linebacker covering him made an insane play - BUT - in that situation the receiver needs to slow down a step and then accelerate to the ball - leaving the defender too far away to make that play. That's what the JSN's and Kupps do. Gotta teach the rookie.

Darnold will be fine, he was slinging it in the rain against a defense that seemed really prepared. We had some untimely drops and execution failures that did him no favors. I am not hanging the loss on Sam. No, I am hanging the loss primarily on those injuries and our defense who kept getting burned and the odd decision to run it on first down into nine man fronts ten times in a row. . Remember when the most terrifying situation for a Seattle defense was "OMG it's third and long - here we fucking go?" Yeah, that came back today to bite us in the ass. Back end od the D was a liability all day long. Two minutes to go and you get burned on THAT play? Yeah, that's on the defense - gotta make that play - PERIOD.

Probably good to get this loss out of the way. Despite so many errors - they had a chance to pull it out. Hopefully this will light a fire, or reignite one, but we need to get those players back. Now there will be no talk of 'the streak' which is probably a good thing - just another distraction we do not need.

A tough game to lose - but a loss is exactly what Seattle earned today - 100%. Fourth quarter series - it was second or third and five-ish - and we get a fucking delay penalty and took away the rhythm and momentum and pretty much summed up the entire game for me. Seattle just could not get out of thier own way and the Redskins said "thank you very much, we'll take the dub!"

Not the worst loss, just disappointing knowing it was completely winnable despite our dipshit fuckery.

Well, right now Seattle is down bradford, Okada and Love, and didn't Seattle barely beat colts last year with a 48 year old phillip rivers? Bears QB is week to week - likely back for the Seattle game. I expect all these games to be slugfests. As Seattle's streak mounts, so will the pressure to keep it going. It's going to get very interesting. Not to mention we have the burden of having shaheed on the roster. Not sure how we can overcome that.

Seahawks concern: Seattle rookie running back Jadarian Price's lost fumble produced a big swing (-5.5 EPA) early in the game, setting up a Washington touchdown on a short field.

Price's two fumbles on 32 touches across three games are concerning after the first-round pick fumbled four times in his final 24 games at Notre Dame. Price's predecessor in Seattle, Kenneth Walker III, fumbled just three times on 954 touches as a Seahawk.

We need this to get fixed, or just try to get by with Holani and Wilson until Charbo gets back. You can't fumble twice in three games, and you REALLY can't fumble once every 16 touches!

Sucks to lose, but we were so due with D starters out, Bradford out, Darnold getting his first significant playing time, and a shitty rainy day cross-country against a team desperate for a win. If there is a good loss, this was it. This team will come back focused and relentless next week.

I like Macdonald sitting Price down after the fumble. That fumble rap in college won't be letting up anytime soon. I checked and he had five fumbles at ND in 280 carries. One fumble every 56 carries. And now he has two in 28 with us. One fumble every 14 carries. This is an unacceptable rate, lol.

I don't know how many snaps Haynes and Stephens each got at Bradford's RG spot yesterday, but Sam was under pressure all day, and that is worst our Oline has looked in many games. Three years now with Haynes, yes? And still very little playing time. That's a long project. It's definitely step up or see ya for him this season.

I'm weirdly okay with what happened. Something like this game always happens. It's a wake up call and plenty early.
Some may disagree, but I was impressed with Sam. He battled. He was mobile. He had no running game. He was under a lot of pressure. It could have looked a helluva lot worse. Yes, he ate the blame for the picks, but I bet secretly he knows he's in command as much as he's ever been.
Brian Fleury seems to be pretty good. I'm not ready to crown him, but he's been equal to the task IMO and this is the first he's ever called an offense.

The defense was off and not just being without Love off. Honestly, Coach Mike seemed off. I'm calling it a one-off.
The Seahawks don't have a #1 RB.

It is very much like the Buttaneer game last year. We had key starters on defense out, Baker Mayfield had the game of his life, and in that game there was also a dumb-luck off-the-helmet interception. Yet we barely lost that game just like this one. The Hawks then went 16-1 before losing yesterday. Sucked to watch that, but it happens.

The Hams should be a lot more worried, blowing a 16-0 lead the way they did last night.
