The WS is a lottery, I don't see any particular formula for winning them other than being in the playoffs. What's the formula? Spending? Go tell the Mets. I will settle for a team that consistently wins their division over a decade. Even then, who knows, the Brewers are still looking for a WS

And it's more than the, just make the playoffs, anything can happen. It's getting the bye, that to me is a significant advantage. I don't buy the rust deal. The WC is a token participation award. Stanton will push the just make the playoffs crap. They did manage the bye last season and had a serious run

There's more to it than just spending, obviously.

Dipoto, for example, could have $200M and still just whiff on all his free agent picks. Because he's a nerdy pitcher who knows nothing about hitters. And it shows.

Unfortunately, Dipoto and Hollander are idiots who have no idea how to build an offense, so no, no amount of money is going to work with those retards in charge.

If we had someone that hadn't proven incapable for 11 years, maybe. But Dipoto is a fool who we'll never win under.

His only "good seasons" can be laid directly at the feet of Edwin Diaz and Cal Raleigh. Without the seasons those guys had, Dipoto's got nothing.

Fun game in San Diego tonight, who would have ever thought they'd have a totally rowdy crowd. Hope they win because the Screwers cheat and rely on dumb luck. Plus it's a neat badge of dishonor that no team that started in Seattle has ever won the World Series.

You know whose fans are the quietest? The Yankees.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but I kind of wish we kept Ty France rather than DFAing him.

Dude remembered how to hit again.

if it was like they cut France and the following season he raked, but he's been through four other organizations since then.
