AI is fun for the fact that you can pretty much search anything and get a decent answer...
But the general theme of human replacement doesn't sit well with me.
First, it removes human connection. Humans have always relied on communication with other tribes, family, what have you... to compromise, brainstorm, innovate, coexist... These days you don't get to interact with a person checking out your groceries. You call a bank and AI is doing everything in its power to not connect you to a person to talk to. We "Google" things now rather than relying on our community to teach us... To me, the loss in relying on others removes an evolutionary condition that got us here and replaces it with something that is nowhere near human. As AI advances, this is only going to get worse.
Second, there are a lot of jobs on that will be automized the further AI advances. I find myself asking, why bring children into a world where opportunity is dwindling? What jobs will be available for people in 50 years? What are people on the lower end of the totem pole going to do with the dwindling opportunity? While AI will create some jobs, I think it will replace a hell of a lot more. In a world with a growing affordability crisis... what will people do if the basic jobs are gone? Just seems like a world of AI will only increase the wealth gap.
What we're seeing is the very, very tip of the iceberg in terms of automation... I'm not sure how good of a thing that is for a civilization that relies on hard work to find purpose.

At some point you have to take a shot with a top player. I know it's very highly unlikely but I'm gonna still die on this hill, come get me Darren YAAAAAAAAAAAAAD-train wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 3:43 pmSuzuki would be great but not sure why people keep ignoring what Stanton said about sign FAs in their 30s just last week. It isn't happening so why suggest it?AZOldDawg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 2:59 pmI like it. Give up what we have to to get Lopez. We have to get more right handed no matter what. Maybe go with Suzuki. My guess is that Jerry will sit there with his thumb up his ass and watch things develop rather than do what the contenders do and "take what you have and make what you want".![]()

One of my followers sent me this. The ones I lined our are either not good are absolutely absurd in terms of their teams even considering trading for them. Tyrone Taylor looks good as a 4th OF and the relievers I circled look very good. Dubon is already a part of my plan but I would be ok with Ortiz as a back up plan. Seems he is available.

This White Tyrone guy who I had NEVER heard of really could be a great fit.
1.7 WAR in 241 PAs. (4.2 WAR/600)
RH bat with .891 OPS vs. Lefties but also decent vs. RHPs at .734
Good defense as well
Not young at almost 33 but for a one year deal, who cares. Made $3.8M this past season so Refsnyder money should get it done.
