Look, there are far more examples of Darnold "seeing Ghosts" then there are of him making good decisions. It was the perfect storm last year, but this guy gets a lot of run because he was a high first round draft pick. But he was making these kinds of mistakes at USC as well. He is who he is. NFL executives have huge egos and think they can fix guys. Sam wasn't fixed, and Minnesota knew it.XpertDBA wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 8:21 pmThe final interception had a perfectly clean pocket, so your argument is ridiculous. Unless you're saying Darnold is a complete pussy because they sacked him a few times earlier and frightened him into throwing that stupid pass. Hmmm, maybe you're on to something.

Both those guys would do better because they're much more elusive than Darnold. He's the kind of guy who you have to have a couple All-Pros blocking for.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 7:16 pmWhen you get hit 20 times because your O line can't pass protect it will affect your focus and your confidence. I'd love to see Purdy or Mahomes try to succeed running Fleury plays and with defenders in their faces 2 seconds after the snap.
Re: Seahawks/Donkeys Game Thread
That may be exactly what happened. When a QB has had a rough game and a team is pressing near the end, sometimes that QB throws balls that he wouldn't throw at other times. Desperation?XpertDBA wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2026 8:21 pmThe final interception had a perfectly clean pocket, so your argument is ridiculous. Last week Darnold threw a ball that hit JSN in the hands and it was not caught. These guys have to rely on one another and we don't know what goes on inside their heads. Confidence can be a tricky concept.

JSN catching that is no guarantee Sam wouldn't have thrown a pick on the next pass.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2026 12:08 amYeah, SD was that close to being a hero last week.
Re: Seahawks/Donkeys Game Thread
Brock and Salk asked MM if he was considering a QB change and MM took 0.1 seconds to say "no".
Brock and Salk and all the rest of the usual Sports media all say they should stay with Sam.
So, they are really, really, really mad at Sam and say Sam has to stop doing that, but no consequences.
Our best hope is for Sam to stop doing that. We may be cooked.

Apparently MM is going to die on that hill. Patience, I suppose. He wants Darnold to figure it out. Time will tell.

MM on Fleury...not exactly a vote of confidence
"Do I expect Brian to be perfect? Absolutely not, but I expect our offense to play Seahawks football. Brian is well prepared and incredibly smart. But on offense, we need to ask who is doing it and see throughout the week that we are taking steps in the right direction, quickly."

I hope this doesn't cause mm to fall back into the mental health issues he dealt with right after he was hired.
