yeah, feel like that is pretty much what i have been saying. Funny that Stanton talks about fans wanting the Hawks to move on, where the guys on this forum seem to want the Hawks to give in and give him what he wants. He has the best contract he is going to see in front of him, anything from now on is going to be teams hunting for value. There is no reason for the Hawks to bid against themselves. Sign the damn contract Jadeveon, if you keep waiting, the Hawks could end up signing Griffen and then you are screwed

And again, for all the complaining, i think they could come out of this with a pretty fair team. I am not concerned about the offensive line, yeah they signed a bunch of guys, maybe that actually works.

You are not concerned about an O Line that has been a concern every year since they lost the Super Bowl? And you are basing that off them signing a bunch of guys because "MAYBE that actually works."? Why?

I think that offense could really take off, they did add weapons for RW, DK will be a year older.

They added what weapons? A TE that had the option of coming here or the television booth, a track star at WR that hasn't worked out anywhere else, two skinny TEs in the draft they want to fatten up so they can block and a RB from Miami that had like 150 carries his last year in college? Which one of these weapons has you so excited? DK having another year under his belt would have happened regardless of any other move. We are still a 2 WR team built around the run game in a pass first league. Unless some miracle with Penny happens, we will run this offense with one proven RB that wasn't retired last year...yet, we will play power football with 90% of the snaps out of the Gun with no FB. Genius.

And they have added pieces to the defense. If they add a DE or two the line looks alright,

The only move they made that has us significantly better than last year is adding a CB, who has had some injury issues. I like the pass rushers they added in the draft, but most think that he will need some seasoning right? I hope not, but it is very easy to see they may not add a ton to our rush next year.

Based on? Judging by the trust we put in Homer as a rookie last year, and the perceived interest in Lynch, I would say next year we are REALLY screwed if Carson goes down. Cross your fingers that Penny is ready? Is that why you think the backfield will be solid? I like the kid we drafted, but knowing what I know about how they used Homer last year I don't have much faith that Dallas is going to get much run.

and I think Brooks could be a bigger help than you might think for the linebacking. i said before the issue really was the defense, but they don't need the second coming of the LOB, they just need to get better, and they could be. I guess the disappointment is the lack of a big off season splash, but it could be JS spread the dough around pretty effectively filling out the team. I know I am just a Hawk ass kisser but I am really not that discouraged about their prospects

My biggest issue IS that they attacked the problem by "spreading out the dough". There where two impact players available on both lines, and instead we signed 6 mediocre players. Brooks doesn't play an impact position, IMO, and will he really make us better than last year when Kendricks and KJ were playing the spots he is said to be competing with Barton for?

Why would he sign a contract that he feels is less than he should get? He isn't the GM and Coach of a team that every team in the division had made improvements.

If they choose to go the Griffen route only one of them is screwed. Clowney will play somewhere. Hawks will regress. They need him . End of story.

So the Hawks should sign inferior players then? Knowing it is an area of weakness that will stop them from advancing maybe even miss the playoffs.

For once, I am asking you to explain yourself, what you think...instead of telling me what the Organization thinks. I know what the organization thinks...the same thing it always thinks. The same thing that took us from two yards to a Super Bowl ring to enormous halftime deficits in every round two game we manage to make it to...after winning the WC round. IF we win the WC round.
