Veen, Gonzales, and Hancock are all 1A, 1B, and 1C, followed very closely by Detmers. I'm happy knowing that we'll at least get 1 of these players in a couple of weeks.
Don't forget the M's pick is worth 5 point so follow your head not year heart.
Updated mock draft from MLB May 27th

https://www.mlb.com/news/mock-mlb-draft ... t-rounders

Seattle selects at #6 Emerson Hancock.

Nice little video attached to it too. So glad to see that my feelings towards Veen and Hancock are so closely resembled.

I think Torkelson, Martin, and Lacey are all locks. That Gonzales, Veen, and Hancock is where it begins to get murky.

Gonzalez
Kikuchi
Dunn
Sheffield
Gilbert
Kirby
Hancock
Carlson
Campbell
Williamson

That'd be a ton of top quality arms to sort through, wow!
Exactly that is 10 guys for 5 spots. For position players I would say we have:

JK
JRod
White
maybe throw in Shed and JP.

So 5 guys for 9 spots. We need a bat.

I concur. We do need some more bats. Although trader Jerry may have an easier time flipping some of that pitching for exactly the type of hitters and players he might already have an eye on.

That scouting report on Lacey making Nick Gonzales look like a little kid has me a little worried.

I might be more inclined to go Max Meyer if Detmers, Gonzales are still on the board.

Sodo has Hancock slipping to us. They say he has Ace potential. btw I will never understand why Gilbert isn't considered to have Ace potential. I predict he will be one within two years.

That Hancock kid looks like a Sale type. I think we ended up with a pretty great pick for how exciting the season started out

I'm excited to see how it goes. I'm also happy to see they're cutting out the riff-raff from the draft and minor league systems.

I think it will be fantastic for the game for a couple reasons.

It will force the young kids up through the system because there will be fewer affiliates to fill. After the draft, we would see a lot of movement yearly.

The byproduct of that is more players will be forced upwards, including at the MLB level.

In my opinion, more of the journeyman and aging players will be the ones hitting the road.

I love Hancock too. In fact I love the Top 6.
Torkelson
Martin
Lacey
Veen
Gonzalez
Hancock

My fear is that you're right about us taking a player who is close to the majors ready. I LOVE Zac Veen and if I had to choose from Hancock, Gonzales and Veen, I'd go Veen. Now if Gonzales and Hancock are off the board by 5, I'm afraid that Seattle may love Detmers too much and go with him over Veen. I'm not high on Detmers pitch velocity, although he's probably the closest thing and safest to a major league ready team. I'd go Max Meyer before Detmers, who if Meyer was 2 inches taller might go #1 overall with a 70 fastball and 70 slider. Either way, its heating up.

Yeah, Sodo is just gonna make a post about every possible scenario. I haven't seen one yet do a post on Patrick Bailey except me. Like I said, he's still my dark horse candidate.

Love it. Can't wait until we can get the full experience. Went to Salem and the Witch Trials Museum was closed. Went to Plymouth and the Plimoth Plantation was closed. Went to Fenway and well, you know....

I am a numbers guy so I would love to find Veens stats. I just can't buy in based on guys saying he is the next Bellinger. So subjective.
