[15. Tim Elliott, RHP, Georgia (BA RANK: 244)
Source: 4YR • Ht: 6-1 • Wt: 200 • B-T: R-R • Commitment/Drafted: Never Drafted
After being used as a reliever during his first year at Georgia in 2017, Elliott made four starts during his sophomore season in addition to seven relief appearances, where he posted a 3.86 ERA, but struggled with his control, walking 13 batters in 21 innings. This spring, Elliott has moved into a full-time starting role and experienced his best season yet. Through his first 13 games (12 of which were starts), Elliott posted a 2.93 ERA with a career-high strikeout rate (8.80 per nine) and career-low walk rate (3.08 per nine). The 6-foot-1, 200-pound righthander throws four close to average pitches: A 55-grade fastball in the 90-94 mph range, an above-average changeup and both a slider and a curveball. The slider is a half-grade ahead of his curve as an average pitch, while the curve is more of a fringe-average offering at this point.i]
Ranked #244 in the draft. Huge reach.

The only one that might be considered a reach is the last pick. The rest were in line with where they are ranked.

Tim Elliott - at least this game on June 1 is enough to excite me...................
https://www.dawgnation.com/baseball/tim ... aa-tourneyTim Elliott comes through (again) for Bulldogs with complete-game shutout in NCAA Tourney
Georgia junior Tim Elliott was nearly untouchable against Florida Atlantic on Sunday, striking out eight, walking none and holding the Owls to just two hits in a 13-0, complete-game shutout.

ATHENS — Georgia needed to get a lot out of its starting pitcher on Sunday, and Tim Elliott delivered.
The junior right-hander carried a no-hitter in the fourth inning and went the distance to record the Bulldogs’ first nine-inning, complete-game victory of the season. Georgia pitchers had thrown two other complete games this season, but they were 8- and 7-inning affairs.
“Definitely number one for me,” Elliott said of where the performance ranked in his career. “Especially the position we’re in right now, that definitely puts it on the top of my list. I’m really happy right now.”
It was all the top-seeded Bulldogs (46-16) could have hoped for. With the win, Georgia stays alive to face No. 3 seed Florida State tonight at 6 p.m. The Seminoles (38-21) beat the Bulldogs 12-3 in Saturday night’s winner’s bracket matchup.
Since the Seminoles remain undefeated in this double-elimination tournament, Georgia would have to beat them again tomorrow night to advance to next weekend’s super regionals.
It’s possible. The Bulldogs came out of the loser’s bracket to win a home regional in 2008 when Nick Montgomery threw a complete-game shutout against Georgia Tech for an 8-0 victory. Georgia went on to beat the Jackets 18-6 to win the regional, and then dispatched N.C. State in the Super Regional the next weekend to advance to the College World Seties.
Sunday’s performance continued Elliott’s strong late-season work for the Bulldogs. Georgia has won the last four games that he started. Normally the team’s mid-week starter, Elliott was pushed into a weekend role with the late-season back injury to C.J. Smith He improves to 7-3 on the season.
“He’s just really reliable, and we know what we’re going to get,” Georgia coach Scott Stricklin said. “It’s been fun to watch him grow up. He pitched a little as a freshman, as a sophomore he pitched a little more and gave us some mid-week help but just wasn’t there. But he just kept getting better and better and better. Here lately he’s been one of our best guys. …
“He was getting anybody out today. He was outstanding.”
For a while, Elliott was perfect. Even when he gave up his first hit in the fourth inning, the Bulldogs quickly wiped it away with a 4-6-3 double play. He had unleashed only 47 pitches through five innings and finished having thrown only 95 pitches.
More importantly, nobody else on the team threw one.
“Guys were really excited,” Stricklin said. “Once he got through the sixth inning, you look up at the pitch count and everybody knew we were going C-G out here. He never got in trouble. He was locked in and the guys were energized by that.”

Well, Everett should have some good pitching this coming year. Any chance that any of these guys go straight to WV?

Elliott emerged as a very good midweek starter for Georgia this season -- maybe the best in the country. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound junior right-hander entered the NCAA Tournament with a 2.70 ERA in his 14 games, with 64 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings. He sits 89-94 mph with his fastball and couples that with a solid slider and an above-average changeup. He throws a lot of strikes, too./i]

Austin Shenton
Previously drafted: 2016, 34th (1022) - CLEScouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 45 | Arm: 50 | Field: 45 | Overall: 45
After a very strong Cape Cod League season last summer, scouts were excited to see what Shenton did for an encore in his junior year at Florida International. A transfer from Bellevue Junior College the year prior, Shenton really struggled out of the gate, at least in part under the weight of his mother undergoing cancer treatments across the country, but he started to swing the bat better as the spring wore on.
Shenton does have a really good left-handed swing when he's at his best, using the whole field well, giving some the belief he'll hit for average at the next level. After he started slowly, he might have tried too hard to catch up and was jumping at the ball and wasn't on time with his swing during games, though he did reel off a long hitting streak to bring his average up. There's some pull power to tap into, though he's definitely a hit over power type of offensive player. With a thicker build, Shenton's range is a little limited, and a hamstring injury this spring didn't help, but he has the chance to be adequate at third with a solid arm. If third doesn't work, he could be an offensive-minded second baseman or perhaps handle left field.
Scouts who like Shenton and think the guy they saw in the Cape is who he is see a little Kyle Seager in him, though his slow start may have turned some teams off. This might be an opportunity for a team to buy low on a college bat on Day 2 of the Draft.

Re: Official 2019 Draft thread
Shenton is a little undersized but projects comparisons to Kyle Seager. He had a rough start to the year but sounds like his head wasn't all there with his mom battling cancer. Transferred to FIU from Bellevue Community College. Had a big 2018 at FIU and in the Cape Cod leauge. Hits for average, not so much power
