When Big Ugly John Stanton ran off Pinella and Gillick he was announcing that ownership cherished no drama over winning. This has been true of pretty much every manager and GM since and is embodied to the highest degree by Servais. He had no managerial experience, has shown no ability since being hired, and yet he will keep his job for a minimum of five years just by keeping his mouth shut and not rocking the boat.
