OT Who is your Best all time Sitcom character
Re: OT Who is your Best all time Sitcom character
I remember “Wings”. The actor who played the owner of the rival airline died very recently. And one of the brothers is the lead on “Madam Secretary”.
Debra Jo Rupp is a monster actress. She was indeed killer on ‘That 70s Show’, especially when she was taking the piss out of Red. But think I also saw her on Broadway in the 80s in something I can’t remember.

All in the family Edith & Archie
Modern Family Phil Dunphy, Jay Pritchett, Gloria love the Colombian accent
The Goldern Girls
The Goldbergs ( 80s -90s nostalgia) but Murry the tight whitey wearing dad, Beverly, and Barry all had real life equivalents

South Pacific, by far my favorite Roger's and Hammerstein film, hands down!ddraig wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:45 amThanks, AT. You are one of the few that has seen me act. It was a lot of fun. The character in South Pacific that I played was Captain Brackett and was based on Russ Brown's version. Had a lot of old WWII guys come up to me after the play and tell me I acted exactly like their commanding officer! Pretty cool!AT Fresno wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 11:51 pmYeah, I like him in MASH and Dragnet, so I looked him up....He appeared in The Ox-Bow Incident in 1943 with Henry Fonda, High Noon in 1952 with Gary Cooper, The Glenn Miller Story in 1954 with Jimmy Stewart and Inherit The Wind in 1960 with Spencer Tracy so he's got some credits... died at 96 and he wasn't an original character on the show... But he also had an aura of maintaining his cool around a legion of misfits, malcontents, whiners, and weasels...and since you played a military commander in South Pacific... I can see why you might relate to the guy.... would have been a good part for you to play had you decided to go full time into acting rather than teaching...
Russ Brown did two musicals in 1958. South Pacific and one and the other was Damn Yankees. A lot of the guys at the Auburn Dinner Theater wanted to do that play, but we never had the chance. Watch this and you'll understand why.

And this sounds eerily similar to a team we all know and love:
"The 1958 Washington Senators won 61 games, lost 93, and finished in eighth place in the American League, 31 games behind the New York Yankees."
