I'm not blaming the managers, I'm saying some people won't put it together, regardless of who their coach is.

Crawford had a .680 OPS in his time with the Mariners last year. There's nothing wrong with that for a SS, so he's not a good counterpoint.

Nobody will even be disappointed much if White can even come back and hit like Crawford did last season.

But dude looks like a mess.

Evan White on pace for a cool -5 WAR over a full season.

Very Kotchman-esque start to his career.

Lets hope he brings the lumber but he looks baffled by the pitchers going to offspeed pitches whenever they damn well feel like it.

Watched him swing at one 6 inches outside today and he looked every bit as lost, hopeless and overmatched as doe eyed Ackley did.

We don't have a good history of guys coming here and learning to put it together, thats all I'm worried about. They can either hit, and do. Or they don't.

As with Lewis, he hit well at AA so he's not hopeless. But Lewis came up and hit.
Don't put the past management's failures on this management. Crawford seems to be putting it together just fine.
Yeah, there is literally not a single employee here that was here when Ackley was here. Zero to do with the org unless they are the ones telling him to change his approach from his successful 2019.

That made it sound like you were talking about the history of mariners development. Evan white started out about .200 with an OPS of .550 his first 12 games in AA before he figured it out and showed he can hit. It is a much bigger jump to MLB. He might not figure it out, but it's still too early and too small a sample size to write him off with what he showed last year. Mariners history is irrelevant like you said. Crawford and Lewis seem to have improved. Long and Vogey have regressed. We'll see what White does.

Strikeouts are a concern, but he's still hitting the ball hard, and just having some bad luck. I think that has him pressing things.

BABIP

Lewis: .500
White: .167
There was also the game he had 2 hard hit balls that were inches away from being fair and ended up striking out later in those AB. He's been unlucky. His K rate is double what it was in the minors and BABIP is half. I think both of those regress to the mean
