We Truly have a good, the Bad, the Ugly deal here with our starters.

The Good are Lewis, Crawford, Moore, Seager and Nola

The Bad are Long and Lopes

The Ugly are all the neggy WAR guys led by White with -0.5. btw is the hitting coach working with him at all?

Somehow White has a negative dWAR... Not sure how reliable that is.

Almost all 1B have negative numbers, they start in a hole because they're 1B and it doesn't matter that much.

Yes, Fauci would be an improvement. He would never give up a hit (unless 10 foot bats were allowed) but he might have a high number of walks.

In any normal season, yes, moving him to CF in AAA and even a backup like Dylan Moore playing 1B immediately makes the team better if they had added MLB talent to push the useless pieces like Dee and Mallex out.

Instead, we're likely stuck with White at an opportunity cost of even trying anyone else for about 4 years.

He has time to turn it around. But if he doesn't, we're assured to see several seasons of it, so

There is no opportunity cost right now. They can move almost anyone to 1B in the future if White doesn't work out or trade for someone. White would probably be in AAA if it were a regular season. This is a rebuilding year anyway

We definitely have minor league options with White... but doesn't seem to make sense to send him down right now.... I'd be ok with that move though if only to take the pressure off him.... and to keep the merry go round spinning
