You guys wanna know the crazy thing about Austin Nola?

THE DUDE HAS BEEN GOOD AT CATCHER...

How many guys can just sort of pick up a position and not suck ass at it initially?
Craig Biggio, and that's about it! Lol

I do love me some speed.... no chance for a DP on that chopper by Crawford, hell no chance for an out!
Meanwhile, Crawford leads the team in Grounded Into Double Plays with 3 so far, tying Seager.

Even Vogelbach with 0 lol..

I'm not of the opinion that being slow leads to more double plays. Being a weakling that hits the ball softly and on the ground leads to double plays.

Something these fast little guys tend to do a lot of.

Or, maybe being in the leadoff spot with more opportunities than the rest a possibility there. 🤔

1 out is better than 2.

Math is hard.

Hitting the ball is better than missing it. 30 %chance of a hit or zero. Yes. Math is simple...

In the case of a man on 1B with less than two outs, because of the chance of double plays, that's simply not true.

Factor in what % of balls end in two outs in those scenarios instead of one, then we can talk.

For these weak hitters (speed players), you can take the extra times they GIDP, but also account for the additional times these guys are picked off and caught stealing, there is very little value in speed.

I'll take a K with the guy behind him getting another chance over a double play any day, because that guy still has his 30% chance. Same way on defense you'd prefer a double play to a K.

Yeah, I'll definitely take this version of Kikuchi going forward. Glad that he was able to make some adjustments. He looks a whole lot better.

Sounds about right, except for Bishop who was only here because it would have been a dick move for the Mariners to release him amidst his mothers death.

Sad sob story, feel good story, whatever.

Kid has played his last MLB game imo. He'll be coaching some community college where he can proudly wear his Black Lives Matter shirt and beat his hairless SJW chest by next year.
I told you he blocked me for some reason, right?
