It appears the Mariners have a valuable trade chip in either Tom Murphy or Omar Narvaez because both guys look capable of a starting role.
Assuming they should trade one or both before they losevalue, who would you rather keep for the rebuild?

Murphy has played in 23 games. He had negative WAR and just over a .600 OPS last season. I don't think any GM is buying into him being Johnny Bench or IRod jr. just yet.

Agreed, just made the same point in the game forum. Narvaez on the other hand probably has somewhat decent value right now eh.

Definitely but then we have a back up catcher that was a AAAA guy until about a month ago and Cal Raleigh an his .700 OPS in A ball for our decent catching options for the next few years.

I'm listening to offers for just about anybody on this roster but, unless my socks were to be knocked off, I'm keeping both guys for now. Cheap, under control, and one bats right and the other left. You've got 2 halfway decent cathers that can come off of the bench and give each other days off. Unless you are dead set on having one of the top 5 catchers in the league, the scenario is almost ideal.

Frietas David, and Austin Nola have both torn the cover off the ball in Tacoma. Both have =/- .950 OPS.
That is why I said Narvaez. He has to have a value approaching that of Haniger.

I'll take either of them. I am just glad they are rid of the worst hitting everyday player in the history of the game. Zunino is hitting .181 with a .561 OPS for the Rays this season.
