Narvaez w. a 1.051 OPS thus far.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 1:04 amI still don't trust it, even with a full season. Sure, if you are at the top of the rankings you are probably pretty good, and if you are at the bottom then you are probably pretty bad, but there is way too much that can't go into a formula. I feel the same way about PFF because you have people evaluating the football players without knowing their exact assignment.

Like I say about both, I don't have time to watch thousands of players play thousands of plays unless I quit my job so I will rely on those stats especially when there are no other stats available.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 1:04 amI still don't trust it, even with a full season. That is probably the only one of the three that will be close to that at the end of the season.TraderGary wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 1:04 amDitto. Just like they drew it up....DP!
My problem with Shef is he seems to be lacking that "stike out" pitch. He throws alot trying to get these guys to swing at his stuff.
ALL of our pitchers with the exception of Flexen have ridiculously high pitch counts and get tossed by the 5th maybe 6th inning.
Let's say Shef gets his stuff together...he's already thrown half of his pitches through 3 innings. What happened to get ahead in the count?
One man's garbage (Yankees) is another man's treasure (M's)

But Narvaez also had 1.051 OPS in Spring Training... odds of that? Sheesh.

Trammel so lost 3 off speed in a row and missed them all badly in front. Not a clue even when guy is throwing it 50% of the time

Well Sheffield was by far the best rookie starter in baseball last season so I think I will give him a couple more starts.

We also have France, who probably never would have been acquired if Nola didn't get the chance to be an everyday draft pick last year. Narvaez will come back to earth.

Justus had a rough first start, but not that bad. He then came back with a 6 inning 2 run game, and held arguably the best lineup in baseball to 3 runs in 5.2. He's been fine.
