JP will finish out his contract with the M’s and enter free agency as planned. Jerry has a huge man crush on him and will never move him or trade him.

But I also think he won’t re-sign him in free agency next year - he will look to backfill from within.

JP is fine, but he’s the baseball equivalent of a box of Mac and cheese - fine if it’s all you’ve got, but not like a big bowl of artisanal poutine with braised beef, hand cut frites, beef gravy, and melted Swiss cheese.

JP tastes great and is less filling. Everything you always wanted in a shortstop, and less.
LOL Great analogy. I won't miss him. Emerson will be the starting SS on OD 2027.

Hilarious vid by Farkas (who you should all follow btw) Fans actually think the M's are going to bench or move JP for Emerson. Such Dopes. lol

That's what I was touching on not too long ago about what's-his-face, these are human beings but people assume that it works just like in MLB The Show. If they try to just make JP switch positions you've got a big problem in the clubhouse.
My analogy was moving little plastic Army men around in a sand box. lol
And when you want to DFA one, you just wait until the sun is in the middle of the sky and break out a magnifying glass ("You're DFA'd, D-Mo!"). 😄

I had like a 3 months stretch as a pre teen when I was a full blown pyro. 90% of my Army men spent months in the burn unit. lol

It goes beyond dipoto having a man crush. You really don't want to be in the situation of considering putting Emerson in that situation, hopefully JP will be okay
Let me give you a little insight, as someone who's been around the team, who's someone who's talked to players, as someone who's been in the clubhouse. JP Crawford is a leader on this team. I believe he might be the most respected player in that clubhouse. There is a reason why they call him 'Cap.' Your leaders do not get moved for 20-year-olds who have 40 games above high A to their name and have zero big league experience. There is a hierarchy in baseball, and JP Crawford is at the very top of the Mariners clubhouse hierarchy, and Colt Emerson isn't anywhere close to it.

It is just common sense. Like when dopey fans say that a 33 yo 10 year vet should be sent to the minors for punishment. Just clueless. So much free info on the internet yet so many choose to be ignorant. Like we don't have a real DH.
