* Raley's injury.

In fact a list of games missed this season, and potential excuses they will make.

Donovan 67 + 17 + 23
Raley 42
Robles 41
Crawford 7 + 9 + 22
Emerson 29
Cal 29
Julio 10
Randy 8

SPs
Miller 43 (8 starts)
Hancock 16 (3/4 starts)

RPs
Brash 18 + 84
Vargas 128
Speier 21
I don't think that the losses of Raley and Robles really hurt us. Raley fell off the face of the Earth after his hot start and Robles sucks. Cal's injury probably has affected his season greatly, and something seems really wrong with Miller.

Our hitting approach has been horrendous. We get ourselves out way too often plus still strike out too much. We pull our heads off the ball worse than little leaguers. And why does everyone steal at will on us. Are they stealing off the pitchers or does Cal has Cal made too many commercials and lost his arm.

Hard to believe, but it took a 7-3 final 10 games for the Braves last year to finish 76 and 86.

I see the M's in a similar light and with similar talent to the Braves.

I still think there's good things coming for the M's given Cal's turn around. I think Julio will get to work and figure it out. I think Young/Canzone will continue to mature into their primes.

We'll see what they decide to do in adding veteran talent. I guess that's the kicker.

Need a left fielder... need a 3B... need bullpen help.
I wish we were more like the Reds who after winning the pennant in 1970 went 79-83 in 1971, and then from 1972 - 1980 would have probably made the playoffs every year if the playoff structure were like it is now.

That's what's so maddening, you look at the roster and wonder why this team sucks. They really shouldn't.

I have this sinking feeling that this offseason we'll probably sign another 35 year old right handed platoon hitter and a couple more mediocre relievers that remind Dipoto of himself.

I bet they just proclaim that Donovan is finally 100% Healthy and go with him at 3B and go with Arroyo in LF. Rest of the lineup is the same with Canzone and Laz handling DH/RF. UNLESS Jerry finally gets fired.

Braves are going win ~95 games this season. If you think we are going to have our 2nd best season in a half century next season after this shit show I think you are insane. lol
I'm sure Braves fans said the same thing after last year too...

The 2025 Braves underperformed because their starting pitching was decimated by injury. Their hitters hit, and their bullpen was decent. Any fan worth his salt is going to say look, we just keep these guys healthy and we'll be right back on top. I really doubt that they went full doom-and-gloom. You being the Research Guy, I'm surprised you didn't take at least a quick peek at their Baseball Reference page.

And sure enough, four of their starting pitchers have made pretty much all of their starts, they improved their bullpen, their offense which was already pretty good is still pretty good and here they are.

Not all of that is true.

Olson's .829 OPS is pretty middling compared to other years. It isn't MVP-caliber offense. Far from it.

Albies' .708 OPS continues a downward trend in his career.

Harris has been better this year for sure... but nothing insane.

The M's have resilient pitching and a strong bullpen on paper... the Braves are just currently performing better when they struggled the year prior much like the M's have.

40 homers and a .830 OPS is very much in the wheelhouse of a non-broken Cal.

Julio can easily be what Harris has been this year.

The pitching has the talent to be just as good.

It's just been a shitty year for the M's.

Of course I did. The numbers aren't really all that different from what the M's are experiencing now.

You could consider Castillo what you get in a rotation when a player in the Braves staff got hurt given how stupid they were to continue to start him half the season.

Bottom line is... the M's are where they are because Julio and Cal weren't 20-30 points better wRC+ wise. They're very likely to not continue this trend.

Injuries to Brash and Spier hammered them in the pen. As did Munoz having a down year.

They had black holes in the lineup in Refsnyder, Ward, Widsom, Garver that a team who hopes to be successful cannot afford.

Julio and Cal get right, the pitching staff is healthy and returns to some form, they add to the BP, and finally add some hitters who don't crater the second they put the uniform on... this is a 90-win club.

It may sound like it's asking a lot, but it's not really.

Just ironic that the guy that RIGHTFULLY called them a dogshit team all season suddenly thinks they are going win 95 games next season. What's with the newfound optimism? I just don't see it.

Cal going to be 30 next season after a terrible year
Naylor got paid then put up a sub .700 OPS 0.7 WAR season. Also be 30 next June.
Cole: Could improve again but was pretty mid this season
3B: Donovan made of glass
SS: Colt was horrible but could see Cole like improvement.
LF: Arroyo and Boston Smith might work
CF: Obviously need a 5+ WAR season for Julio
RF: Laz has been great but his 45% K rate is scary
DH: Canzone probably be counted on with another .800 OPS season

Rotation:
So many question marks in terms of health and preforman. I see an average rotation.

Pen is currently a mess and Jerry has shown he is never will to do what it takes to fix it.

I see maybe a .500 season unless they actually do something this off season.

That's all fine and dandy, except that I said nothing about the state of the Mariner franchise and my point was solely that Braves fans didn't quit on their team because it was strictly the injury bug that got them in 2025. I guess I should do something about my funny accent and propensity for stuttering. The Tourette's outbursts in mid-post probably don't helBA-LA-LA-LA-LA-PISSFART either.
