I think what's needed is a team President or CEO that sits above Jerry DiPoto and Kevin Martinez. Right now, that's what John Stanton does, presumably on a part-time basis. But it really needs to be a full time role.

That's what dipoto is, he's president of baseball operations. Adding more bureaucracy isn't going to mean better decisions. Stanton is the managing owner. I don't think it's on a part-time basis.

Lovullo would naturally be a candidate. I don't believe Nightingale has any actual Intel. I think he's just making that assumption

He's done a lot with some pretty mediocre talent/pitching staffs in a very difficult division.

Although I'm not sure what can really be said about him considering what happened over the last couple years with Marte. Didn't really wrangle him in.

Post season makes money and brings more money the following season but attendance will regress next year unless they make big changes. It’s not all hotdogs from heaven.
