The problem is that there really aren't any good theories out there right now. Carroll's supposedly all about a winning approach to life, but he refuses to acknowledge the deficiencies he has in his approach to managing football games which hurt his team's chances of winning. Is he blind to his own faults or simply too stubborn to change his methods?
Cognitive dissonance. He has deeply entrenched beliefs and when presented with evidence that refutes those beliefs he can either accept the evidence and modify his beliefs are ignore the evidence and stick to his guns. He has obviously chosen the latter.

I don't know if its being stubborn, feels more like overwhelmed to me. In his post games he doesn't sound stubborn, he sounds baffled. They came into the season with an effective offense, the issue seems to be lack of adjustments, he says himself he wishes they would have made more, why didn't they? Its like they are so occupied with their own game plan they do not have the ability to reverse engineer it in terms of the other team's game plan. Other teams are playing six moves ahead to Pete's three

The Squealers are trying really hard to top the Hawks for worst playoff performance. Down 28-0 to the Brownies in the 1st quarter, holy crap.

First snap of the game went over Rottenburger's head and ended up being a Brownies TD. Three TOs by the Squealers already. And down 28-0 on 4th and 9 at the Brownies 38 they just PUNTED.

Did you see Carroll's post-game presser? one of the first questions was something like "Do you feel like you were outcoached today" (which of course he was ENTIRELY), and he couldnt admit to anything , barely acknowledged the Rams good coaching even. Clearly he is feeling defensive, as he should, will see if it goes anywhere (hope on, hope ever).

I watched it. It was pretty telling - he looked really beaten down, affected by this loss. There was a very telling question about the botched fourth down play call and the inability to get the play called in time - and he admitted he was interjecting his thoughts in the play call - which may have actually been the problem - his input. Joe Fann also asked a great question - Carroll talked about how well these two teams know each other, and the Lambs made adjustments - Fann asked him why that doesn't go both ways - why isn't Seattle making adjustments, too. Harsh question - but one we all have been demanding answers to.

PC's admission on how slow or reluctant they were in making adjustments the second half of the season is pretty damning as well. It's almost like a light went off and PC realizes he's the one holding them back. Then again, 12-4, so it's all pretty confusing.

All I know is I had zero faith they would beat the Lambs after what I saw offensively - which was no real counter moves to take advantage of what the defenses were giving them. Seems like football 101 - it's how every other team used to play the LOB era defense - take what the LOB gave them - and with measured success. Seattle seems to be doing the exact opposite. Is that because of PC's meddling in the offense?

A part of me feels bad for Carroll - but he does need to be held accountable, too.

I watched some of KJ Wright's - he looked stunned - the defensive guys were really shocked - thought this was the best team since '14. The team looked legit stunned by this loss. What I would like to know from PC is how much he is influencing the offense. You hire a coordinator to run it - and then get out of the way. This team 100% lost because of offensive incompetence - is that on Schotty, or is PC hamstringing him by micromanaging his playcalling? If that is the case, I can see Schotty bailing out of there. That would have to be frustrating beyond belief.

I donlt know about you all, but I was really relieved to watch the Saints and Browns games - very competitive teams - and no fucking bumbling. it was legit good football. Bad football is when you see the Seahawk offense trotting onto the field and I just shake my head because it's 'here we go again..." time. Brees makes all the throws RW flat out can't or won't. That seems to be the question.

So refreshing to have a guy life Fann covering the team. PC must be absolutely stunned that he is getting challenged.

The question now is, where does Seattle go from here? Is this team broken from this? How does this group, what's left of it going into 2021, walk into training camp next season with any faith and confidence in the leadership of this team? Literally the same mistakes they were making in week one they were making in the playoffs. What is going to change? You watch any other playoff game, and there was a semblance of execution. You watch Seattle - and it's just bumbling chaos. I smiled watching the Saints game, I was texting a buddy about how refreshing it is to watch an offense actually look competent. No, worse, it was relief. I'm so, so, so tired of watching the same movie play out with the Seahawks. It's too much. Bumble, stumble, scramble drill at the end. it's the same ole, same ole, same ole, same ole. I don't want to watch it anymore. At all. Add in the Frangrance King and the relentless brand building while perfecting the intentional grounding and sack taking, it's bloody awful. Does RW want to play QB in the NFL, or just be a celebrity? I don't expect perfection , but watching Brees carve up a really good Bears defense confirms to me that it can be done. But between the Offensive Bermuda Triangle of Seattle's PC-BS-RW combo, something is getting lost - and I'm way burned out on seeing it anymore. I'm glad Seattle is out of the playoffs and this movie is out of the theaters - it's fucking trash. The best part is not having to sit through that anymore this year. It's a relief. Now the real games begin. I wonder if PC will throw a challenge flag on this post?
