Re: It's official
Jimmy G would be the perfect stop-gap QB. He has the third highest winning percentage of any QB in history - that isn't because he is a great QB, but because he knows how to win. That is something neither Lock nor Geno has.
Plus, he's old enough and not elite enough where you still draft the QB of the future, but gives you an actual NFL QB until that guy is ready.
If you want to win some games this year (debatable), then Jimmy G makes sense.

No actually I didn't Michael, I asked the question, note the question mark.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 3:21 pmYep, I said week 1. You said he’s as broken as Lock. Nice call.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 2:32 pmI don't know much about him other than the 49ers can't unload him. You think he comes in September 11th and becomes the starting QB? Then do it, I don't have a problem with it.
Our divisional opponent won’t cut him because they don’t want to face him. What did Cleveland get for a former #1 pick? It’s not worth it for them to trade him
No they can’t unload him, because it isn’t in their best interest to unload him NOW. What good does a pick next year do them right now? Not to mention every team in the NFL knows they have to do something, why would they make a legit offer?
Sorry, Jimmy G is no MVP candidate, but he is light years better than anyone on our roster at QB.
It's injuries...
. One of the key issues Lynch and Shanahan cited last offseason when discussing their move up for a QB was Garoppolo’s inability to stay healthy. Injuries to Garoppolo derailed them in 2018 and 2020, and now a shoulder injury the QB suffered in the postseason is throwing a curveball at their offseason plans. He tried getting healthy without surgery, but finally chose to have the operation at a time that would allow him to be throwing before training camps opened.
The 49ers were looking to move on from Garoppolo because he was hurt too often, and then they were unable to trade him because he was hurt.

Again, they could bring him in with no experience with the hawks at all, no off season, no preseason and plug him Into the starting role? I just find that hard to believeSeattleAddict wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 3:42 pmJimmy G would be the perfect stop-gap QB. no, not game 1. I figure they'd let Geno suck for the first two losses.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 3:52 pmAgain, they could bring him in with no experience with the hawks at all, no off season, no preseason and plug him Into the starting role? Is Jimmy G even healthy at the moment? Even if healthy, it would be awkward to fit him at this late date.
I could see it either happening or not. Being legit competitive might not be on the Pete and JS agenda this year.
My condolences to Team Lock.

I'm pissed they didn't go hard after Minshew this offseason. Lock looked like a stone cold stiff on two of his picks and Geno is just flat-out painful to watch.
Hawks had a chance to make a play for a gamer and get fans excited about a new leader -- Minshew would have come in as a NW favorite already. To me it would have been like the way Mike Cameron's play took some of the ugly away from trading Griffey. He could have kept things exciting around here for several seasons while we developed a top-shelf QB from next year's draft.
We have the makings of a solid D this year and some potent offensive players. It just feels like they quit on the season by not going after a QB who can give us a chance. Hope I'm wrong.
Also, might just be the Broncos' uniform, but Russell is looking like a fatty lol. I'm not sure if he can outrun a cheeseburger right now.

Even among football players RW is known as a pretty intense gym rat, doubt he is sitting around getting fat

He used to be so pretty, but I'm sorry, he's a big fatty now and he is going to get sacked again.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 3:09 amEven among football players RW is known as a pretty intense gym rat, doubt he is sitting around getting fat

He might not be pretty but I'm not seeing where he is fat, thinking that's more wishful thinking. The guy works out
