Sauce blows and you don't need 3 lefties

Legumina is making a strong case. I like him more than Thornton and Snider.

Not really, the first 4 will make the team and Vargas sucks. No idea why you have Raley on there.
He's out of options. The thread title was who is out of options. But my main focus was the 5 BP OOps 6 BP guys forgot Buzzardo. We know if Bautista and Santos are healthy and effective those are your #1 and #3. Snider had a 193 ERA+ last year Sauce and Speier are your lefty candidates, Thornton is being paid 2M.

Buzzardo is also out of options and if you are running an 8-man pen, You're keeping Santos/Munoz + the 6 out of options guys. But that locks you into the team not hitting the lotto on a guys like Hunter Cranton, Feliz, Fujinami, Brandon Garcia, Drew Pomeranz, etc. Not to mention when guys like Brash and Kowar come back and some point in 2025.

I really like Garcia, and Brash. But guys Thornton, Sauce, Vargas, etc could be getting the wave by the end of ST, or shortly after the start of the season.
You said Raley being out of options limits the club which is ridiculous. Who is Bautista? Kower just got put on the 60 day IL which is a shame because I can't wait to get his 9+ career ERA in the fold.
You Are completely missing the point Rielly is out of options so he’s part of the thread. The main focus was we’ve got half a dozen BP guys that don’t have options, not having them optional for us to either use them or lose them.

Raley was the second best hitter on the team last year. It is irrelevant that he is out of options. They aren't sending him down so it doesn't matter. The point of the thread is that guys not having options limits the club and a lot of times it does but it doesn't with Raley.

Raley is out of opts, so he is there. But the whole point was the 1/2 dozen BP guys and the fact that it forces them to start the season with them or risk losing them. That is the limiting factor. All the guys they bring in on dumpster dive contracts they usually find at least a couple that show promise.

Risk losing them? To who exactly? Other teams are just waiting to jump on a dumpster fire reliever the mariners decide to send down

The Great Contrarian strikes again. I am sure that everyone has their own opinion but

6 BP guys
speier: Has a 3.35 and a 3.5 FIP the last two years which has beat his ERA by a lot. In 2021 and 2022 He has an ERA+ of 404, and 179.
Thornton: In 2023 Trent had a 204 ERA+
sauce: is OK
snider Had a 190 ERA+ last year
VARGAS: Throws 100 he had control issues but has a high ceiling
Buzzardo: had a 2.7 FIP in 2024 which was better than Snider's 3.41

5/6 guys have demonstrated stretches, even whole years of putting up numbers that would put them firmly into the top 3 spots in the pen.

Saucedo is the only guy I think they could pass through waivers. I bet everybody else would get scooped up.

You're saying they would have more high performing relievers than room for on the ML roster. Okay, that sounds like a good thing . Not being able to pass one through waivers would indicate they have a pretty good ML BP. I'd love it if they couldn't get their excess relievers through waivers

I think you are also missing another reliever option and that's the newly signed Seth Martinez.
RH multi-innings eater when the need arises. Solid for Astros last year.
The one negative is he, too, is out of options.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

What's going on with Drew Pomeranz?
