Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
I am like why? He does not catch anymore. So 1B/DH. But we got France at 1B, and Garver as your DH. He has had these batting #s 103, 100, 83, and 91 OPS+ the last 4 years. in 2019 he had a 136 OPS+ but clearly that player is not there anymore.

In terms of pitching depth the Mariners have effectively swapped out one year of nine-year MLB veteran Marco Gonzales at $12.25 million for one year of nine-year MLB veteran Anthony DeSclafani at $12 million.

Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
Anthony DeSclafani has posted 12.6 fWAR in 942.2 career innings covering 180 appearances, including 165 starts.
Marco Gonzales has posted 10.2 fWAR in 893 career innings covering 163 appearances, including 155 starts.
One difference is that Gonzales is the lefthander missing in the Mariners' seven-deep starting pitching chart.

Descalfani has had a tough time staying healthy...
Last 2x healthy seasons he posted 3.89 and 3.17 ERA's. 120 and 130 ERA+'s.
Had an ankle injury in '22 that limited him to just 5 starts and an elbow problem in '23 that ended his season.
