Losing culture is losing culture.

Hard to change is after decades and now a rebuild.

That pretty much sums it up perfectly. Seager has had a really good career and a great resurgence, but the only thing he knows is losing unfortunately. With the game on the line he did the losing thing.

Great pitching the last two games and they lose, great hitting tonight and the pitching goes pffft. That's baseball.

Crawford batting .193 in August with a .482 OPS.

Is he really the future at SS?
Crawford is starting to do the same thing he did last year (start hot, then crash), but without the excuse of wearing down at the end of a long season. If he can't pull himself out of this slump and he winds up near the Mendoza line again, it will be a serious problem. I've written a couple of times that J.P. is one of the keys to the step-down; if he fails it is bad news. But another key for me is Sheffield, and fortunately he has started to look pretty good, so all is not lost. For Dunn and Fraley the jury is still out, but starting to trend down a bit. Of course, no worries about Kelenick and Julio if only he can stay healthy, and no bad news as far as we know for the three starting RH pitchers in Tacoma.

Given all this, it is good that we are tanking, because we will really need that very high draft choice. Come on, Sexy, we are depending on you!
Good news if Crawford sucks next year SS is loaded in F/A.
I see Magill's trade value took a bit of a hit last night. :) ERA and FIP are right back to career averages of about 5.00.

God knows I hate rebuilds....ughhhh!
Nice to see White break out like that. Hopefully he finds his groove in this league. All hitters are streaky.
Damn Seager! At least he started out hot this year got to get his numbers up before we trade him. Thanks Kyle for the many years!
Pitching?!?!?! We have some nice 2 and 3 starters and then nothing to write home about after that. Time to develop. Sigh.
We need a Gerrit Cole on this team just to stop the bleeding every 4 or 5 days.
Oh well. Basement dwellers while the kiddies take their lumps. Is what it is.
At least they don't paint BLM all over the field!

Man us game thread starters now have a greater appreciation what it must have been like storming the beaches of Normandy and seeing everyone dropping like flies.

I think we may have one or two "Gerrit Coles" working out in Tacoma right now. I'm not really apprehensive about the pitching...it's about finding a catcher and whether or not Kyle Lewis, Jared Kellenic, Julio Rodriguez, and Evan White are gonna be who I hope they are...Right now we have the leading contender for Rookie of the Year honors in Kyle Lewis.... I'd like to see his play continue...
Two other players are exceeding expectations: Crawford and Moore making them integral "findings" in our rebuild.

One or two Coles??? That’s crazy. Good players, but saying they are like one of the games best pitchers????? Crazy.

In his first pro season Gilbert had a 2.13 ERA with 165 Ks and 33 walks in 135 innings and a 0.94 WHIP.

In his first pro season at Cole had a 2.80 ERA with 136 Ks and 45 walks in 132 innings and a 1.20 WHIP

Looks like your the one taking crazy pills.

Agreed except that Crawford appears to be brutally streaky and may not stick.

He's still getting on base via walk and playing great defense so that will help him stick for a little while. I hope he's streaky. So far he gets off to hot starts then tails off Did that last season. Streaky would be a good thing. I'm hoping to see another hot streak soon.
