So right now Arroyo is at .300/.903 and is a SS. Ford is at .223/.696 as a Catcher/DH.

Ford is about 6 months older and they are on the same team facing the same pitching and obviously in the same home park.

Ford is our 3rd ranked prospect and Arroyo is 8th.

Two questions. If they finished the season with those exact stats will Arroyo jump Ford and and should he jump Ford. I would say NO and Yes.

I think Arroyo is going to be a top 100 prospect if he continues with those numbers. What's more crazy, is he had a slow start his first 2 weeks. Since then, .347/.645/1.047. As a switch hitting SS that was supposed to be defense first, he's on the fast track to being a top 15 prospect.

Ford also has been off and on with a hamstring injury, so he has about half the AB as Arroyo.

So you didn't want to answer my questions or you don't care. ;)

I honestly don't really care. It's great to see Arroyo doing well, and I'm not worried about Ford after 100 sporatic PA in his first full season. I think they will be ranked fairly close at mid-season, and we'll see what happens the rest of the year. I'm not dead set on being right about Ford being a bad pick ;)

I ate crow last season on Ford and will happily do it again.

This really isn't about Ford, its whether performance should be more important that draft status once guys has a good sample. Especially when it is a total apples to apples comparison in this case as opposed the the KLew Julio comparison we were attempting yesterday.

It will all play out with time. If Ford doesn't pick up his hiring, he won't be top 100 at the end of the year. Much like your hit Kahlil Watson. Take out his first hot week, he's been .202/.539 since then. He continues that trashed, he absolutely should drop out of the top 100.

I do think pedigree should be a part of it. I mean I am not advocating Charlie Welch jumps Ford because his BA is 10 points higher or he hits two more HRs or anything like that but when you are talking a first and second round pick on the same team, that one round difference really shouldn't matter after a full season.

I have been texting with Watson offering some sports psychology advice. LOL
