Last year you only lost one point for missing the first game.
Are you sure, i remember losing the 16 pointer at least once last year. Maybe it was a different scenario.
Nah, it was a whole thing in last year's thread.
Though, you should be able to just look and see. If you can still assign 16 points to a remaining game, then it's like I said.

Here's from last season. Hopefully they still do it this way, which is more fair, as explained by dt

Didn't Millikin say it also only cost him one point when he missed the Thurs game 2 weeks ago? It must be something they changed from previous years and it is definitely an improvement. Losing 16 points was way too harsh.
Yeah it assumes that the player would have put 16 on the game AND lose it. Something that almost never happens. 1 point seems light though. 8 would probably be a good happy medium.

Week 1 is such bullshit. Might as well just pick randomly.

NFLPA outlawed real practice in training camp to the point that week 1 becomes the first full 60 minutes of football these guys have played since last season. Looks like Chargers starters are a little more stretched out than Chiefs.

Week 1 I drop 3 points. I would have bet Eagles as the 16 pointer but I would have been near 50-50 for Chiefs vs Chargers. We'll see how much it hurts the 1st week score.

I cant recall another opening week with so many good games - KC/LAC, Bal/Buf, GB/Det, SF/Sea, Hou/LAR, probably forgetting a couple others. Not just quality head-to-head matchups, but also between divisional foes. makes it hard for the PickEm but certainly great entertainment.

Looks like Captain neglected to weight his games. Can't imagine him putting 15 on the Chiefs to lose.

So, i missed getting in a pick for the first Saturday game and it's forcing me to take a 16 point hit. Yet, when others have missed getting in their Thursday picks it allowed them to move that down to 1 point. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT???

How could he forget, hasn't he been in all the previous pools?

He could have picked, then figured he'd come back later to weight them, but instead a bunch of hookers came over to his house and brought whiff.
