You trade for him what happens to Robles & Canzone.

You keep one and rotate thru DH or have Randy pretty much DH. Trade the other one in a package to pick up another need like relief or 3rd base.
Used to be Balefire UK, now I'm optimistic!

Duran has almost twice the career WAR with the same number of years control remaining.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 2:24 amI think Kirby is the more desirable asset. Duran is a nice player, but less valuable than an established, young frontline starter that's mostly been pretty healthy and has three years of control left.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 5:38 pmYou could be right. I was trying real hard not to be an irrational homer and propose garbage trades that the other team would have no chance at taking. If you can get Duran for prospects not named Emerson or Anderson and keep Kirby I'd be totally fine with that.
Re: The Captain of all off season plans.
It's true that Kirby is coming off of a down year so you'd be selling low, so maybe I'm the one being a homer here. But my sense of Duran (despite his gaudy 2024 numbers and very good 2025) is that he's probably playing a bit over his head and isn't really a franchise cornerstone. He's more of an interchangeable part than a real strategic asset. I could be wrong about that though. It wouldn't be the first time.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 16, 2025 2:15 amDuran has almost twice the career WAR with the same number of years control remaining.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 2:24 amI think Kirby is the more desirable asset. Robles is a bench bat and Canzone can DH or trade him. Its too bad he sucked in the playoffs.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 5:40 amYou trade for him what happens to Robles & Canzone.

Under no circumstances should the M's trade Jonny Farmelo. Kid has 5-Tool potential player greatness written all over him. All other M's prospects are on the board.
Re: The Captain of all off season plans.
If you can trade for Duran you do it - he would be a cornerstone OF for years to come. His only problem in Boston is they have too many OF'ers just as we have too many starting pitchers. Who cares what happens to Robles/Canzone if you can get Duran.
Re: The Captain of all off season plans.
The big question is if he can stay on the field. He's missed a lot of time. It isn't too late for him, but there's a case to be made to trade him in the right deal.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 17, 2025 7:53 amUnder no circumstances should the M's trade Jonny Farmelo. Curious what it is about Farmello that leads you to that conclusion. I realize he is young but a .230 average, a .778 OPS and 2 Stolen Bases in Everett is not exactly screaming 5 tool player to me.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 17, 2025 7:53 amUnder no circumstances should the M's trade Jonny Farmelo.
