Reports that Buxton might waive his no trade clause. He is basically the OF version of Marte. .878 OPS 4.9 WAR 32 yo but only owed $45M instead of $100M that Marte is owed. He would be our RF or LF if Randy is traded. Canzone to DH.

DT who would you rather have. Buxton & his potential for injury or Jaren Duran? If it's a win now I know where I'm going.

Duran is 5-40 in his career at T-Mobile. .742 career away OPS.

Buxton 15-77. .789 career away OPS.

I trust Buxton to produce at T-Mobile more than Duran.

Also, remove Duran's 12 green wall doubles in '25 and and 17 in '24... what are you left with? There's a reason why he led the league in doubles in '24 and tied 3rd in '25... You gotta figure 75% of those are pop outs or line outs at T-Mobile.

Buxton has only played 620 of the 1194 games the Twins have played in the last 8 years. (52%). He will be 32-34 for the remainder of his contract so I don't see any reason to hope that he is suddenly going to play 140-150 games per year. He's good no doubt but I don't know that I really want to pay 45 Million over the next 3 years for a half of a player?

M's and Polanco not close. I have been saying he goes elsewhere for a while now.
A 32-year-old switch-hitter, Polanco is coming off one of the best seasons of his career while helping the Mariners reach the American League Championship Series. His ability to play second base, first base and fill a regular role as the designated hitter makes him an obvious fit for Seattle’s roster needs.

The Mariners have made their interest in Polanco well known, and a return to Seattle is believed to be Polanco’s preference, too. The two sides, though, do not appear to be close to a deal.

The market could come into focus for Polanco next week when industry executives and agents come together for the league’s annual meetings.

Polanco is seeking a multi-year contract, according to industry sources, and he’s expected to have healthy interest.

The Boston Red Sox have been linked to Polanco, and the New York Yankees have previously checked in on him. The Pittsburgh Pirates are aggressively pursuing offensive upgrades and they have expressed interest in Polanco, too.

Arroyo officially moving to LF. Will likely take over for Randy in 2027.

Literally only need half a player. $15M a year is not even 2 WAR.

Marine layer podcast had an interesting idea. Sign the Japanese starter and trade Kirby for either Marte or Duran. I would do that.
