whats he calling about?...ask how the leg is feeling? He is shut down at this point
He was injured in May and was about to come back in Sept. If he is still not ready in January just cut him and open up the 40 man roster spot.
This is a billion dollar franchise on the cusp of spending $30M on his replacement. It doesn’t have to be Jerry. it should be the trainer or whoever is in charge of conditioning. Check in see how the rehab is going. It sounds a little flippant kind of Jerry fuckery.

JD Loves Chain of Command so he needs to ask the Asst. GM who has to ask the Director of Player personnel who has to ask the Head trainer who has to ask the assistant trainer to call him. Takes time.

Dipoto...the rehab is going great, we will see how he looks when he gets to spring training...Would you rather they just counted on him to be ready? That they say they are going to work around him, put the roster together under the assumption he will not be ready, to me speaks to them being aggressive about it. Dipoto, anything we get out of Lewis will be gravy...or should it be, lets pencil Lewis in as a starter..which is it

If Flexen has another 180 inning 3.60 ERA campaign he's going to get Stroman-like money from someone.

The difference is, Stroman has a track record of very good pitching. Flexen has Korea and a single season in the majors.

But nobody is talking about Flexen being an Ace or even have Ace potential so not sure why people are so excited about Stroman.

Well, that depends on what you consider an ace. If a guy can go out there and throw 200 innings of 3.00 ERA baseball, like Stroman has proven he can do, I'd say that's ace-like material. Just because Rodon, Ray or Gausman pitched like "aces" for one season, are we supposed to assume they're going to be aces going forward?

Stroman has a far better track record than all 3.

Yeah I am seeing a couple Ace like seasons in their but his career has been pretty bumpy.

2014-15 3.31 ERA 1.14 WHIP
2016-18 4.10/1.33
2019-21 3.12/1.23

I guess if his floor is those middle years that's not bad.

Stroman has also not been as good of a pitcher at Citi Field as he's been on the road.

If he comes to Seattle, he's going to get that SafeCo bump in ERA. I wouldn't be surprised if that brings his ERA down to the mid to high 2's. His stuff plays really well for the ballpark in my opinion. He's a very similar pitcher to post-octane Felix.
