He has a .226 Slg % the past two seasons and we think he belongs in a MLB lineup.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:33 amIs that REALLY as far as Mastrobuoni can hit a baseball? He got every bit of that one.

I will also say we got pretty lucky with Goldsmith.
Guy has a silky ass voice and knows how to deliver everything. His homer calls used to be a little weak but he's gotten them down.

Definitely homers but so far it's been pretty balanced.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:37 amIf I remember correctly, they're pretty big whiners who think the Rangers are God's gift to humanity.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:35 amI'm listening to Rangers broadcast on mlb.tvSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:33 amI don't dislike Angie.
She's just not good in the booth. Really amateur in her delivery.
It's O.K. At least more play by play than b.s. commentary.
They seem to like Woo a lot.

I don't know how you get to the point that either sees your lineup.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:35 amI don't get it either... how you can sit Leo Rivas when he's rocking a .513 OBP is beyond me.
They have a lot of injuries, but the fact those guys are getting at bats doesn't say much about their AAA depth.
At the same time, most other teams have half a roster full of scrubs too, so it's not unique to the Mariners.

Rivas has been worth .7 bWAR in just 13 games. Ya the slug isn't amazing, but a 171 OPS+ is.bpj wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:44 amI don't know how you get to the point that either sees your lineup.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:35 amI don't get it either... how you can sit Leo Rivas when he's rocking a .513 OBP is beyond me.

To me he's fine and should be starting at 2B as long as he's hot... Mastro and Thomas... I don't get how they are anything more than bench depth to bring speed to the base paths and defense late in games. Starting both doesn't make a lot of sense.

I think it's Dave Raymond who says that the Mariners have changed their identity this year.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:42 amDefinitely homers but so far it's been pretty balanced.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:37 amIf I remember correctly, they're pretty big whiners who think the Rangers are God's gift to humanity.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:35 am

They used to rely on their starting pitching but these days most pitchers get about 5 innings before the bullpen has to take over.
It's their offense. They are a hitting team. Just seem to outscore their opponents.
I can't really disagree with that.
The Ranger would be polar opposites. Pitching has been a delight. But the offense has dragged.

Yeah, that's more what I'm getting at is some of these guys seem so far down the depth chart.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:46 amRivas has been worth .7 bWAR in just 13 games. I like Rivas as the starting 2B as much as Moore or anyone else. The problem I have with it is we have like 5 second basemen bats on the roster right now and some are ending up in corner outfield. At least theyre winning so I cant complain about it too much.

Agreed, I like Goldsmith, Rizzs, and I thought Mike Curto did a great job when he filled in at one point.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:42 amI will also say we got pretty lucky with Goldsmith.
