Nice player. But, a 4th and a 5th for a guy who is a free agent at the of the year. Wow
It would indicate they are seriously going for it this season. This is a nightmare for opposing DC'c, this kind of add on
The 2025 Seattle Seahawks, under offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and with quarterback Sam Darnold as the epicenter, has enjoyed one of the most explosive passing games in recent NFL history. This season so far, Darnold has completed 20 of 28 passes of 20 or more air yards for 686 yards, four touchdowns, no interceptions, and a passer rating of 153.3
Yes, my initial thought was also that it was a bit of an overpay, would have thought the 4th rounder sufficient without the 5th rounder. But paying such a price also likely means extending him beyond just the half-season rental--if they can do that a reasonable price, buying low on a young talent because of his injury setbacks and unfortunate position of playing with third rate quarterbacks, In this age of high-priced receivers, that could be a real coup. That could make sense to Rashid because he finally gets to team with a good QB, with a familiar OC, for a contender. And with JSN taking so many targets he probably doesn't have enough runway to leverage this season into a massive deal elsewhere. Makes sense for the Hawks as he is a legit legit deep threat, more so than MVS ever was, more so than Horton, that will force teams not to stack the box and thus potentially help the running game. Plus he brings KR abilities that are needed with Dareke Young out now. And yes, this probably means Kupp is hurt worse than let on, or simply deemed not close enough to his former self, and maybe not brought back next year ($8M dead, $9.5M cap savings per Over the Cap).

The talk about running more, I never expected them to actually lead the league in rushing attempts. And this goes back before Grabb and MM. Pete would talk about it, be more physical, run more. But to really commit to it, it's surprising to me.

And the thing is the run game is characterized as struggling or whatever. But if you look at it, they face a stacked box more than any other team in the league. Teams are forced to respect their run game. And it's opening up the passing game. In that sense I'd say it is working, it's being effective. It's interesting that relationship, and truly being committed .

And now teams are going to feel even more pressure to drop a safety back in coverage. And then maybe the run game really does open up. And then maybe Bradford isn't as big a liability. He is a road grader. I believe MM and Kubiak have demonstrated how to scheme to your OL advantage. Shaheed could benefit the line as much as finding a replacement for Bradford .

It's going to be interesting if adding Shaheed really is more about the run game than adding to the passing yardage. And that might get overlooked

MM uses the term, complementary football, football jargon, but to actually see it being demonstrated. I think that's what we are seeing, a coach that understands how to create performance by leveraging complementary relationships. You see it with his defense. How he can create pressure without the need of a premier edge rusher

In other news seems like the Cards have finally given up on Murray- Brissett now getting the start Sunday against the Hawks- Not sure I am love with this- Just hoping the Hawks take this game super seriously.

How the hell do you not address the O line? Bradford is a massive liability out there.
Glad you brought that up. They have the worst guard in the league, they also have probably the most explosive offense with a qb that's been sacked what, nine times in eight games? What exactly do they have to address? For me this really gets to the heart of the issue. How much football is about coaching as opposed to talent. That to me is coaching. I think what gets lost is the remarkable job of coaching that's going on, as well as GMing. I think it's what JS has been after and now he's found the coaching to fulfill it. That's why I think they have risen to the level of the Rams and 49ers. The brain trust now is on par with those teams. I think MM is in line for coach of the year as is JS GM of the year. That's what this thing is turning on
Blah blah blah. Why would you want them to have to coach around a hole in the O line? That's asinine. Eventually they're going to be playing teams that will take advantage of it. Heck, the Rams strength is their edge rushers so good luck protecting Darnold when we face them twice later this season.

Did you hear the clip of Trey McBride talking about Brissett? Basically five minutes of him gushing about how he is a Pro! Crazy...basically dissing Kyler. I bet Kyler is fine, word is Call of Duty is about to be released. That dude is the furthest thing from a Professional QB you can find. One of the things McBride commented on is what worries me about the Cards. He basically said Jacoby will throw the ball on you even when you are covered. Kyler Murray was Pete Carroll's wet dream....the dude had to lead the league in balls flat out thrown away.

Why? Because it's an advantage the seahawks can exploit. If they can win with Bradford at guard then that's capital JS has to apply someplace else. Yeah, I keep hearing how the league is going to figure MM out. All I can say is they better get going on it because currently he's been taking them to the woodshed on a weekly basis

Come on Michael I don't mind some PC shots but that's revisionism. RW was leading the league in hitting small windows when he was a seahawk. Pete loved an explosive play and was happy having RW throwing into tight coverage. That's what RW was good at

Yes- Worried Mcbride destroy us the last time against us- Like its impossible for us to cover tight/ends or something...

Yeah, McBride has rung up yardage but he's only scored one TD in three seasons against the seahawks

Coming into this season he scored 1 TD as a Rookie, 3 the next year and 2 last year. The QB play in AZ has been abysmal. It blows me away the love that Murray gets. He is horrible. I'm not saying Brissett is gonna set the world on fire, but he is better than Murray, in my opinion. Below is the list of "QBs" that McBride has worked with. Gross. I really do believe that Brissett is the closes thing to an NFL QB on that list.

2022 Kyler Murray (11) / Colt McCoy (3) / David Blough (2) / Trace McSorley (1)
2023 Kyler Murray (8) / Joshua Dobbs (8) / Clayton Tune (1)
2024 Kyler Murray (17)
2025 Kyler Murray (5) / Jacoby Brissett (2)
